The nightclub scene around the Cities took a decided turn toward balancing style with function at some point, as in this Warehouse District spot. The music, drinks and some of the faces may be similar to those elsewhere, but the accoutrements rise above the ordinary, literally. Nine-foot chandeliers, plasma TVs and a two-level floor plan have guests looking upward, and deep purple lighting and upholstery is inviting. While not even a visiting Klingon would ever confuse Minneapolis with Las Vegas or Miami, Karma touts those recently fashionable and ambitious motifs, right up to the Miami-style rooftop patio (good in these parts for about 4 months). VIP seating isn't a new idea either, but reserving a spot in the plush accommodations here could make your evening more comfortable. A rotating lineup of top DJs tend to keep the large dance floor crowded with hip/hop and R&B fans, and the bar's liquor inventory rivals the best around. (18 to 20-year-olds should plan on Thursday as their night to party.)
