Since opening in October 2004, the North Tampa offshoot of SoHo's popular Whiskey Park nightclub has gone full speed ahead on the local nightlife scene. Weekday happy hours pack in professional types who loosen their ties and kick off their heels for beer specials in the bar's stylish surrounds. Flirtatious undertones resonate, and if you're single and looking, then this is your spot. There's a different theme every night of the week, but evenings here usually follow a similar progression: Whiskey morphs from bar/restaurant to bump 'n grind nightclub as the night wears on. Tuesday night's killer karaoke is guaranteed to make you feel like a rockstar, with a live band playing 80s music for you to croon to (Vox and Jim Beam specials provide the liquid courage).

Whiskey rounds out the rest of the week nicely. There are country-dance lessons on Wednesdays, and Thursday's Ladies Night features DJs and open bar privileges for 'goddesses' (any girl can become one - just ask the hostess how to sign up). Friday's best deal is $10 open bar for everyone from 5PM-8PM, and most people who come for happy hour end up staying all night. All that partying can work up a hunger, and the basic menu includes decent burgers, Cobb salad, Philly cheesesteaks and gyros. If ever a bar attempted to be all things to all people, it seems Whiskey Park is one.
