The Scene
Ruby Skye owner George Karpaty has opened a see-and-be-seen club for those who are, in his words, "grown-up, make money and dress nice." Like the clientele, every aspect of the club is detailed and maxed-out plush. Stained-glass portraits circa-1814 highlight the club's decor while maintaining an old-school flavor. (The place once housed the historic Stagecoach Theatre.) The lighting system casts an oceanic effect on the dance floor--very Cirque du Soleil.
The Draw
The real allure for much of the clientele is away from the dance action. Upstairs, a private smoking lounge houses pool tables, leather couches and cigar bar. It's the perfect place for patrons to get away from the noise and engage in getting-to-know-you conversation while puffing on a stogie.

Look Good
Although the attire is casual, don't wear baseball caps, tennis shoes, or any kind of sportswear.
Know Before You Go
On special midweek events and most weekend nights, be on the lookout for cigarette gals on foot. Expect to pay approximately $7 for a pack of smokes, $2-$3 for candy.
Save Time
There's an ATM located upstairs, next to the pay phones near the stairs.
The Extras
Friday and Saturday nights, pay $340 for a booth reservation. Perks: $200 worth of drinks, $40 prepaid gratuity, and entry without waiting behind the velvet rope.

LOUD soundsystem & scenesters
this is the ultimate tourist attraction club. it has one SUPER LOUD soundsystem and for those who want to save their hearing, wear earplugs. otherwise, regret it when you pass 30 and save up for that hearing aid. as for the type of music, it's more about trendy, commercial, club/radio friendly tracks. it's about being seen, wearing typical club attire (well, at least for guys it's nice jeans, black shoes and an unbuttoned collared dress shirt; in other words, clones are among us). and especially not knowing the difference between trance, techno or house music (much less, all the SUB-genres). basically, it's a night of bridge & tunnel, amatuer partiers with money to burn.

Crowd can be rude, but the atmosphere is dazzling! Bring your own group and it is really fun. The chandeliers are awesome!
Nice Place, Rude People...
The building itself is pretty cool, very big and open. The inside is designed very chic. However the people that come here are very much rude. For the most part, people don't go to Ruby Skye to party. But better yet they go to act stuck up. At least that's what I experienced. I had a lot more better nights at the smaller clubs on Broadway. But it's a nice building..
Rude Staff, expensive, not worth it
if you want a lousy place to hang out, come to Ruby Skye. This was the worst club I ever been to. The music sucked, the people didn't seem like they had fun. It was a weird atmosphere. Save your money and stay away.
