A downtown bank building (circa 1920) with an art deco interior, grand arched windows and gilded brass ceilings does not easily lend itself to other uses once the bank goes out of business -- not without extraordinary vision. The On Broadway Event Center is the realization of that kind of vision (backed by enough money to open a new bank). The towering, multicolored main bar, classic Greek columns and an enormous video wall frame the stunningly lit dance floor and convey a type of grandiose awe that reminds guests that this is the most exclusive club in town.

The main dance floor doubles as the dining area for the Zen Cafe, a restaurant that offers a gourmet Euro-Asian fusion menu (Fri.-Sat. evenings). The tables are rolled away around 9PM to make room for dancers, who groove to the beats of nationally known guest DJs and in-house stars of the turntable. The Ultra and Gallery lounges downstairs feature music ranging from old school hip-hop, to disco, to more underground spin-styles, and in the VIP lounge, only the elite know what's really going on. Remember that the building used to be a bank, so the large basement vault with the multi-ton door that houses the club's billiard lounge is completely authentic.
