The Mirage, which revolutionized the concept of the megaresort in 1989 (ancient history in Las Vegas) got tired of being known as yesterday's hot property, and these days taps into the Palms/Hard Rock market of young, good looking party people. Jet, the property's first nightclub, was conceived by The Light Group -- the people behind Mist, Fix and Light. Apparently monosyllabic titles are the keys to hot reputations.

JET has 15,000 square feet, three unique rooms and a multilevel environment crafted by designer Jeffrey Beers from wood, stone and arching steel. Each room has its own dance floor, DJ booth and sound system. Option #1: rock, hip-hop and popular dance music; Option #2: house music, featuring guest and international DJs; Option #3: a little bit of everything with a dance beat, from rock to classic '80s tracks. Jet also boasts a one-of-a-kind light and laser grid, state-of-the-art cryogenic effects systems and four full-service bars. European bottle service is available in each room.

Last night I went to the "place to party on Monday night" Jet, at the Mirage. What a disappointment. I received comped tickets to go from a pit boss while playing blackjack. My wife and I were very excited about going, went back to the room got cleaned up and headed down at 10:15pm. The tickets were good until midnight. At 12:02am we finally got to the front of the line. And the large bouncer, rudely tells everyone, it's now $30 per person to get in. I negotiated with him, and he said I pay, but my wife gets in free. No problem. I paid and we were in. The big bouncer agreed on those terms for the couple behind us. The gentleman paid his money and began to walk in, but a second bouncer stopped him. The second bouncer was a short Italian meathead. And yelled at the large gentleman who had just paid, "move back out and pay another $30." The gentleman tried to tell him that the large bouncer said it was ok. When the large bouncer was asked about it by the little Italian guy, he denied it. Obviously he wasn't allowed to approve such things, so he called him a liar and kicked the couple out. Without returning the $30. My wife and I went into the club. In the main room the dj sucked. He didn't know how to mix songs. All he did was lower the song that was ending, then slowly bring up the next song. My six year old can do that. In the backroom there was a dj spinning house/techno music, he was good. There are no couches to sit anywhere in this club, except at the "VIP" tables. There were so many people inside, I'm sure the fire code was broken. I have been coming to the Mirage for over 14 years. After that experience, I will never stay there, dine there, see shows there, or gamble there.

FYI, the ratio of guys to girls was 15 to 1. A true Sausage Fest.

I hate it when people complain about waiting in lines, paying cover and not being a "VIP". Get over yourselfs. This club is excellent and the drinks are not over the top expensive either. Youve obviously never been to vegas or N.Y. Lines are a way of life. Be patient it's worh your wait. Talk to the bouncers, Get to know them, thats what I do, then they let you skip the line and comp your admission. Its not that hard, image is everything, dress nice be courteous, it'll get you a long way.

  • Jet Nightclub, Eh!

This nightclub is an eh! The nightclub bouncers were disrespectful. They had to ID check me twice, just to make sure it was me on that picture. They had to check my atm card and I had to sign in a piece of paper to solidfy my signature on my driver's license, to see if it was also me. When my signature didn't match, which it did, they still booted me out. what proof can you get. I felt discriminated when I got there. If you know someone you can have fun. If you don't, then good luck. The only good thing about the nightclub is the 3 rooms and the drinks and the music. The price to enter is okay. Oh! don't get overwhelmed when you enter the nightclub. Just have fun when you are inside Jet and explore the 3 rooms. Either than that, Jet Nightclub is an Eh!

  • I love Jet Nightclub

I don't know why everyone is writing such poor reviews! Maybe these people have never gone clubbing in Las Vegas before and don't know how to follow instructions, but I have never had a problem getting in to Jet before. Sure there's tons of people trying to get in there, but hey, that's what happens when a club is a hot spot, and Vegas is a clubbing mecca! Anyways, the door staff has always been friendly, and inside the light and sound is awesome. I especially love the house room. Drinks are good, the bartenders are hot, and there are plenty of good looking people. If you want the best time possible, try getting bottle service. You can't go wrong with that.

I just went this weekend, and it was seriously the most humiliating thing I've ever done. I am not a sensitive person, but I was almost crying. My boyfriend and I had "VIP" passes we had purchased 2 weeks ahead of time. All the people were waiting in like 10 different lines, and the regular admission line was moving more than we were! The only reason our line was getting shorter was beause people who had already prepaid like us had left. When we asked them why our line wasn't moving, all they said was "We'll get to you as soon as we can." Which meant nothing. When we reached the front, the bouncer made eye contact with me, then looked around and asked, "How many people in your group?" I felt discriminated against, like I was supposed to flash some cleavage to get in When I got inside after 2.5 hours of waiting, I left in sheer disappointment. Don't ever come here, and warn those in line so they can be out of business!
