As one of the area's oldest dance clubs, the Lizard Lounge has accrued quite a bit of name recognition over the years, with the eternal notoriety translating into constant crowds. So how has the joint with the sleaziest-sounding moniker managed to weather the unceasing storms of trend shifts and genre-jumping? Turns out the sleazy-sounding moniker is an incredible asset, rightly designating the place as a prime pick-up bar, although other major pluses include cheap drinks and the fact that it also holds its own as one of the city's best venues for national music acts. The Lounge is rendered considerably more somber on Thursdays and Sundays, when hundreds of local goths convene on the premises for "Church" night, the club's bi-weekly celebration of all things dark and beautiful (as well as one of the few events in the city where one can hear Thrill Kill Cult).

expensive cover but good music if your into techno or industrial music when they call it the church on thurs and sundays. weird crowd at the church but nice people. people who go to the lizard lounge are very passive. i think it's rare if a fight ever breaks out and i've never seen one there. one of the best techno joints in north texas.

Seattle to Boston. LA to Miami been there and partied hard. Lizard Lounge has a special place in my heart. The Lights, the sound system and the DJ's OMG...GLOBAL. Fridays and Saturdays is the techno, house, trance party with either very good local dj's or mind blowing global DJ's. Sundays is The Church and trust me everyone is welcome and the crown knows how to have a good time way into the weee early hours.
The club looks like a gutted 1920's theater and the dance floor is the orchestra pit and stage. The second floor overlooks the main dance floor for some amazing views and instead of a smoke machine it's bubbles. The club has plenty of chill areas and high energy dance space and spills out into the parking lot when they host massive events. NEVER a dull night.

Not exactly a posh environment but if you know what your in for you'll be just fine. It's a "ravers paradise" to say the least. Good prices on cocktails which makes up for the black light and 70's disco lights decor. The main room however has top notch lighting and lasers with your focus on a big screen several feet above the crowd which dance below in a sunken dance floor with excellent sound. Great seating on the first and second floor with small corridors through out the club with people chilling out taking it all in. As for the music... Electronica would be the term. The main room dominated by trance and up-tempo house with the side room fueled by electro and funky breakbeats with hard house thrown on for good measure. So if you like your music driving and melodic you will love this club. Check it out if this sounds like your cup of tea!

no need to dress up unless ur into that and no need to pretend to badass b/c that SEEMS the standards like in other clubs everyone doing thier own things allows u to be more open with just being urself. going to differnet rooms and never dance vibe never leaving u is always a super plus too

You don't come here to hook up since most of the "men" here are squeaking by at 18. One bartender, he knows who he is, is on this ego kick. A 40 year old with a receding hairline serving drinks who acts likes he's auditiong for Cocktail II. He is slow, rude and he's drinks are weak. So why the 3 stars? It's all in the music. I come here for one reason, to dance. I don't worry about some creep coming up behind me or accidently bumping barbie's drink. It's unpretentious and the music rocks. The music on Sundays is especially good if you can have an open mind.
