A cultural landmark for the burgeoning Hispanic community in the Fells Point area, this upscale nightclub on Broadway -- with its two roomy dance floors downstairs and restaurant on the upper level -- is one-stop-shopping for a Latino experience. Flags of more than 20 nations near the entrance announce its international intentions, while potted palms, exotic fish and mesmerizing murals of jungles and oceans give it a tropical ambiance. Salsa, merengue, and bachata (a musical export from the Dominican Republic) are the club's mainstays, but on certain nights you'll hear reggae, kumbia, hip-hop and R&B. Friday and Saturday nights are reserved for live Latin music and attract the most mature crowd. And if you don't know how to salsa, don't worry, you can take lessons.
After working up an appetite on the dance floor, cool down and fill up one flight up at Las Palmas. Replenish those fluids with homemade sangria then share a tapas platter -- a selection of four of the menu's more than two dozen appetizers -- with your dance partner. More filling fare include paella, fajitas, seafood casserole, Cuban sandwiches and basic pastas served with garlic bread and vegetables.

You will find a very friendly and happy enviorment. I have watched this club really grow. It doesen*t make any difference if you dance latin music or not, they will always be someone happy to teach you. Just a great place to come in for dinner, drinks, or just a great fun evening. Let the latin music take you away, and enjoy! I love it.

Walking into this place it has a definate wow factor from the huge chandeliers to to decrative palms. I found it to be a very welcoming environment. The owner was very hospitable. Friday nights they have these Brazilian Dancers in beautiful authentic outfits. They dance with the crowd even brought me in for a shimmie and some limbo. The people that dance in this place is enough to make you feel like your Baby in Dirty Dancing. Big fan of Latin palace!
Disappointed
After reading the reviews and getting recommendations, I went to Latin Palace expecting a great time. I was so disappointed. At the restaurant, several of the food items my table ordered were not available that night. I don't mean a few, I mean a lot. The food took over an hour to arrive and the place was empty. Our waitress was terrible and even forgot one of our entrees. So guess what, we waited another 40 minutes to receive that. The food was delicious but not good enough to forget the horrible service we received and the fact that a lot of the food items were unavailable.
authentic latino nightlife
Not the stiff suit kind of crowd, a down home authentic place where I have met Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Mexicans, Hondurans, Salvadorenos, and of course ... Mexicanos.
Good food, good dance lessons and a nice mix of music. On Friday and Saturday nights, IF there is no live band, they usually play "reggeton" (latino hip-hop) from 12:00 until 12:30 or 1:00, so don't be put off and assume that the salsa, merengue, and bachata are all over. It's a great place to have fun!
