Located in the trendy Lakewood section of Dallas, Legal Grounds Law & Coffee offers an unusual combination. That's right, it's part law office and part coffeehouse, and it's the brainchild of attorney David Musselwhite. In an effort to capture the lost art of the small town practice, Mr. Musselwhite created a nonthreatening, comfortable and mighty tasty restaurant where law books and a pastry counter coexist with two menu boards, one for food and one for the more common legal problems. Surprisingly, both are reasonably priced. Drop by any morning for healthy homemade granola topped with fresh fruit or skip the health food and go right to the luscious French toast. While you're there, you can see Mr. Musselwhite about any legal questions. One-stop shopping at its finest, Legal Grounds is usually busy -- so be prepared. Regulars stop in every morning just to chat, read the newspaper or have brunch with friends and family.

food ok, staff rude
ispdg - 12/09/2007I took my parents for a late breakfast on a weekday morning. Although they weren't busy, we didn't get a greeting (another customer told us to seat ourselves). The man working the counter didn't acknowledge us because we weren't standing at the right part of the counter (we even though he wasn't helping anyone else). When he took our order, he acted very put out and annoyed to wait on us. The food is good but not great enough to be treated so rudely. The busboy was the only one who showed any courtesy.

jthormodsgard8 - 04/09/2007I go to this restaurant about twice a week  probably 40 times in total.. The food is awesome! The staff hardly acknowledges you with a hello or even a smile  even though weÂre regulars.. . This is not just my opinion, but the collective opinion of my girlfriend and other friends that eat at Legal Grounds. The food is good enough to keep going there though!

bobfir - 10/15/2004This is a true gem of Lakewood. The food is great, personal favorite is Cory's Cakes 3 LARGE cakes with bananas and wonderful pecan sauce YUM. Another favorite is the bagel sandwich. The regulars are a great sampling of all that is good about the living in the Lakewood area. A true melting pot. How many business establishments do you know of that have a memorial bench with the quote "he loved it here"
