Georgetown has yet another venue to add to its growing list of stylish boutiques, restaurants and bars. Blue Gin, a chic two-story getaway in the heart of the shopping district, makes it easy to stick around the neighborhood after the stores close. Decked out with low, leather settees, square cocktail tables, and minimalist fixtures, the lounge has the bone structure to match its high-cheeked clientele.
Blue Gin's decor and its roster of local and international DJs are a big draw for DC's jetsetters, who come to groove, flirt and see and be seen. To give them the gumption to do these things are three bars, all equipped with designer spirits, such as Hanger Vodka and Magellan Blue Gin; wine by the glass or bottle; sake and even grappa. Also fashionable is the bar menu, which is stacked with petite plates of lobster spring rolls, grilled lamb sandwiches and creme brulee. After snacks and cocktails, Gin-goers usually retreat to one of two dance floors, where everything from disco to hip-hop gets a spin.

Champagne, Celebrities and fun
I was there a few weeks ago, the Yankees were there, Polo Players, Models, they couldn't have been nicer...you would have thought we were the VIP's...Had a great time...dancing, drinking Champagne, looking at all the beautiful people having fun....that's a NYC style lounge to me....too bad the Yankees beat the Nats the next day....

I have been there several times. The new owner could learn from the old good staff, he was just trying to pick up my date. Much better before, not going for a while.
atmoshphere, good music, great staff, what else do you need?
I have been to most of the clubs,Lounges, bars, etc in DC and this ranks in the top 10. Decor, Staff, DJ, Drinks, are all top notch. So if those things are important to this place will make you happy. It's nice to know Blue Gin is taking a page from The books of famous clubs from Vegas or Miami and bringing some of that element to DC. DC and especially G-town has been needing a place like this for a long time. I and most of my 25 friends that were are the party we had sat night will be back for sure.
Awful
Sure, I guess it was supposed to be nice. But I dropped alot of cash in a short period of time and had to leave since I was treated so bad. The staff was the rudest I have encountered in a long time and the service was terrible. There are other places to go in Georgetown. This place is a dump and a joke. Uncalssy and for psuedo-intellectuals.
Awesome
Its a great place to take a date. The best part about Blue Gin is the people who go there - very polished and cultured, unlike other clubs where men try to grab every women's ***....The music is also pretty good
