Pizza never had it so good. Neither have most Italians, for that matter. Oven-fired pizzas, spit-roasted meats and a half dozen or so inventively prepared pastas remind you that this is a step up from the usual Italian dining experience. The familiar name of D'Amico is behind the two local Campiello restaurants, which usually means you're going to eat and drink well. You'll also look favorably upon the atmosphere and stylish decor in either location -- both are elegant yet comfortable. The Uptown site gets a more eclectic clientele, and the suburban spot is friendlier to families and couples. The seasonal cuisine is billed as ''rustic contemporary,'' which is a way of saying it consists of Old World recipes influenced by imaginative young chefs. The popular Campiello bars create enough martini selections (about 32, but try the Bellini) to spawn an actual Martini Club for connoisseurs. If you add wine (from a somewhat pricy but expertly chosen list) to your dinner for two, expect to pay as well as you eat.

jmwallace3 - 09/29/2004These restaurants seem never to be u[pdated. This location has been out of business for some time now. There's another on Shady Oak Road in Eden Prairie. We like it a lot.

lacsuel - 09/01/2004MY HUSBAND AND I TOOK FOUR OF OUR FRIENDS FOR DINNER THERE ON THE 30TH OF AUGUST. AND IT WAS PERFECT. THE SERVICE WAS THE BEST AND THE FOOD WAS GREAT. I NEED TO EAT THERE MORE OFTEN!

brnizblu4u - 03/01/2004A couple of months ago I was invited to dinner at your wonderful restaurant. The service was impeccable, the wine manifique! and the food to die for. Thank you all at Campiello's for making the experience so wonderful!! p.s. You can also get directions from a wonderful navigator if you get lost! *soft smile*, and they don't give you a hard time about being a woman, getting lost!! The tour of the facility was fantastic and everyone I met added to the whole experience of dining.
