When you're not up for a scene, there's Wet Willie's. This bi-level beachview watering hole has greasy appetizers and great chicken corn chowder. Sip potent frozen drinks with names like 'Attitude Improvement,' 'Bahama Mama' or the infamous 'Call a Cab' from the balcony for an up-close view of the sidewalk and beachfront. The decor, like the atmosphere, is cheerful.
The upstairs bar mural depicts a woman pouring an elixir into a glass and a mermaid-like man swimming underwater, and hanging from above are funky, futuristic sculptures of tubing and wire mesh. The good-natured though clearly stressed wait staff manages the occasionally overwhelming crowd with ease, and the door personnel (complete with police officers) are stern but friendly. Good, affordable fun.

LaLiz32 - 07/16/2008I have had the pleasure of spending sometime at Wet Willie's in 1999, YES I SAID 1999. IT ROCKED & BLEW MY MIND BACK THEN AS WELL! I am VERY happy to say that by tomorrow evening I will be back there for a 'Call A Cab" & I think the other one I liked was called "NY Attitude something..." anyway, if I forgot the name you so guys know it was GREAT! I will be back with an update when I return...CHEERS...U WET WILLIE'S LOVERS !!!!

nennyjls2000 - 04/13/2006I love this place, the best two appatizers are the nachos and calimari! Best drink, Call a Cab! It is always my first an last stop on every trip to South Beach. Which I am on my way back for more in 6 days!!!! Call me a Cab!!!!!

jajum7 - 03/29/2005I love Wet Willies. This is a place you could come to and not feel uncomfortable. Everyone is there all for the same reason. Drink and have a good time. It's so not like the other sobe places with it's your not a celeb attitude. I recomend this spot to every one.

robinj2002 - 02/27/2003This is one of the best places to get a frozen drink that I've seen in a while. My hometown boasts the best frozen daiquiri's in the world, but Wet Willie's comes pretty damn close to it. The place itself is very homey and relaxed too. I've seen people all dolled up and people in shorts and flip flops right next to each other. The balcony is the perfect place to people watch if you can find a seat. Its usually always packed. Inside is just as great and the bar tenders are really nice! Great place but watch out for the drinks...they're stronger than usual. This coming from a daiquiri expert!! You may have to take moment to get off that bar stool!
