Postpone the sacrifice to Pele, volcano goddess, and point your outrigger to the lively, tapa-cloth-lined, TV-less tiki lounge, where you can nibble pupus and sip a mai tai (famously invented by founder Victor Bergeron in 1944). The flip side is a casually classy dining room with curved ceiling, nautical accents and a menu combining Trader Vic's classics with local flavors unique to this outpost. Cooked over fruit woods inside the barrel-shaped Chinese oven, meats -- such as ribs and rack of lamb -- emerge tender and succulent. It takes the fortitude of a warrior to resist hot lava chocolate cake.

My wife and I went to the new Trader Vics for the first time and were blown away by the authenticity of how they had stayed true to their original Seattle roots. It is just a fun place to sit and unwind. I highly recommend it. Five Stars!

What a fun place to dine and unwind. Trader Vics has wonderful atmosphere from the moment you step through the door. They follow it up with personal service, great food and amazing coctails. If you haven't found this not so hidden jewel yet you need to seek it out.
