Sabor's Spanish menu isn't officially tapas, but patrons are encouraged to share what's on their plates as if it were tapas, to get the food's best effect. Start with a calamari salad of mixed greens tossed with crispy calamari rings and a tangy tropical dressing. Other stand-outs include the pernil napoleon of pulled pork served between stacked layers of fried plantain and the chicken empanadas stuffed with the unusual mix of raisins, capers and manchego cheese. Entrees veer to imaginative choices like the vaca frita, pulled stewed beef on a bed of blue mashed potatoes. The grilled churrasco is also something to behold -- skirt steak drizzled with yummy chimichurri sauce. Sabor features an attentive staff, a hip, but not too hip, attitude and bartenders who know how to mix a mean mojito. Trust us: It's probably one of the best cocktails in town. -- Stephanie Portnoy

Fantastic sangria!!!
My best friend and I went there last Saturday, we ordered the media noche platter which is a combo of steak, chicken and shrimp on skewers plus empanadas. The food was very good although somewhat pricey. However, we ordered a pitcher of white sangria, which was AMAZING! It's by far one of the best sangrias I've ever had. After dinner we went down to the bar and ordered a couple of drinks at the bar. The drinks were really strong and you definitely gets your money's worth...

i think that about explains it all. when i showed them the glass they tried to convince me it was a wet green napkin. i'm no fool.
poor service
We had a reservation for a party of 7 for a birthday party. we got there and we had to add 2 more people. They said we had to wait 20-30 minutes. we waited 1 hour and 40 minutes. After we sat and ordered the food we had to wait 30 minutes for the food. We said something to the owner and he said it was our fault. We will never go there again and we will make sure to spread the word.
Great food, drinks, and atmosphere
This is definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Bergen county. The atmosphere is outstanding and caters to the dining crowd as well as those meeting up for a drink. The atmosphere is very swanky but unpretentious. The food is delicious (especially their pork dishes) and the menu changes seasonally. Be sure to try the mojitos - they're the best north of Havana!
musical, sleek, and savory
There are very few local places where one can enjoy live latin music in a sleek and savory ambiance. On Thurs/Fri/Sat arrive early and snag a table on the lower level. Your reward will be a 10pm birdseye view of the cuban ensemble. Voyeurs may simply watch the band, while exhibitionists might sneak a salsa dance on the makeshift dance floor. Burgundy sheers divide the bar area from the lower dining room adding to the ambiance. Imaginative dishes push you out of your safety zone. Bring a date for a cozy dinner (upstairs) or come unaccompanied so you can meet a hip but unpretentious thirty to forty-somethings. It can be crowded, sure, but Sabor is always a good time.
