Those who think of Beale Street as the "Mini French Quarter" won't be surprised to find their Southern cousin's signature bar cloned here. The genetic similarities go right down to the flaming fountain and piano lounge, and the liquid that ties it all together is the famous Hurricane cocktail -- a lethal rum-based concoction that has certainly earned its place in the Hangover Hall of Fame.

Funny thing is, rather than homogenizing Memphis, Pat O'Brien's seems to have upped the crazy quotient. True, POB has no claims to anything historically Memphis, but they do bring to the table a healthy dose of fun mixed with plenty of kicked-up Southern recipes. The menu is full of standard fare if you hail from anywhere south of, say, I-40 (think jambalaya, gumbo and fried anything); just prepare yourself for a friendly crowd and bring a smile.
