If you've ever pined for a quick tropical getaway, Waves Chill and Grill is your bar. Thatched huts, seashell lamps, papier-mch parrots and faux swordfish wall-decorations make "landlocked" seem oceans away. Even Neptune himself greets Waves' regulars. At the neon-lit bar, your bartender will happily serve bottled beers of all kinds. But to truly complete the island vibe, an Island Cocktail is a must. The most popular (and most potent) is the tsunami, which comes served in two sizes. The smaller of these is a personal take-home fishbowl, filled with gummy worms and long fuchsia straws. But beware! Both come with the loud ring of a bell and a group shout of "Tsumani!" Other goodies include the Waves margarita, the pineapple martini and the malibu wave. Shots and various drinks come served in wildly colored glassware. When at Waves, that "leave your cares at the door" feeling fuels the party inside -- even if you never get a glimpse of Jimmy Buffet himself.

We're not going back
wordnemesis - 04/10/2007Yesterday, my father, sister, and two nephews dined here and it was a bad dining experience. First, my sister ordered the all-you-can-eat perch and when it was brought out it was nasty. She complained that it had a strange odor and was unappetizing. My father, who ordered their salmon cakes, had a similar situation. He complained of a similar odor and described his meal as being something that came out of a can. Neither my sister or father touched their meals after only a few bites and who could blame them. Thankfully, the manager didn't charge either for their meals. Later, when my sister noticed that there was a discrepancy with our bill the waitress said it was " irritating " that the matter was even being brought up. Needless to say we're never going to eat here again.

libbs821 - 02/26/2005The food was nasty!!! I ordered the appetizer "sampler" platter to get chix-wings next to jumbo shrimp & a few ribs all in one pot with some weird rice, very unappetizing. The "Keith Sweat" look alike band played cover ballads that didn't match the restaurant theme. There were lots of trashy people of all ages pouring in after 10pm to go to their 8by10 size club. Would never step foot in there again. At least the people were super friendly & the service was good.
