Although it may look nondescript on the outside, the Vine offers the best of several worlds. The decor is an alluring combination of red and yellow walls and subtle Art Deco lighting; its centerpiece a circa-1870 hand-carved bar with beveled glass mirrors and marble countertops. This antique served time in a barbershop and then in the Daniel Boone Hotel in Charleston, W. Va. before finding its way to Columbus. Aside from the atmosphere, martinis are the major draw. Among the enticingly named offerings are the Roman Catholic (Stoli vanilla, Bacardi limon, coconut rum and several juices), the Marilyn Monroe (Absolut citron, champagne and lime) and the Flirtini (Stoli raspberry, triple sec and champagne, among other items). Although the finger food menu -- featuring chili cheese fries, hummus and other bar food offerings -- is popular, Sunday brunch brings in herds of customers. Those taking advantage of Stoli shot specials may be tempted to participate in karaoke later on. And if all else fails to amuse, there are several TVs.
