One of the Langham's more delicious secrets is that the hotel was once the Federal Reserve Bank. You can even tell if you're in a former vault because your cell phone service cuts out. So it stands to reason that the plush Julien Bar and Lounge has its share of historic treasure. The bar, in fact, was once the Governor's Reception Room within the bank, and the designers have done a stupendous job of translating the stiff airs of a prestigious hall into a stately martini bar.
If you had a martini after work every day for a year, you'd still probably only repeat a few of the 101 choices the Julien offers, from the (most likely not Kanye West-inspired) ''Gold Digger'' (Ketel One vodka, Triple Sec and pineapple juice) to the ''Boston'' (Bombay gin, apricot liqueur, grenadine and lime juice). Worried your martini-handling skills aren't up to par? Try one of their Legenday Cocktails instead, like the Fleuri (Stoli Vanilla, Stoli Raz, Creme de Cacao and Cream), which likely earned its monikker from Cafe Fleuri's infamous Chocolate Bar.
