Its all about indelible ingredients at this bright-hued pizza emporium where patrons pass by the pristine exhibition kitchen boasting a wood-fired pizza oven before placing their order at the counter. The misshaped pizzas are Neapolitan-style, which means the hand-pressed crusts are thin, blistered and charred in the requisite places, thanks to a scorching 750-degree oven. Top-notch toppings include San Marzano tomatoes, housemade mozzarella, imported Italian meats, and fresh herbs like basil, oregano, rosemary and arugula. Salads are elevated to an art form, most notably the Rustica, a forest of romaine lettuce, sliced red and green apples, roasted walnuts, pear tomatoes and Gorgonzola.

  • Awesome find for dinner w/ friends or family

    Review rating : 5out of 5   Freedom2bnatural - 07/02/2008

It's got that great, neighborhood feel, but even better is the food. The pizza is, as always, amazing. The ingredient choices allow for huge amounts of creativity.

A non-pizza favorite of mine is their pumpkin ravioli in a browned butter sage sauce with pistachios. Yum!

I've learned a few things about Italian wines, too, because of their selection.

I've never had anything but excellent service, but have only gone there for dinner, never lunch.

  • Great Find!

My wife and I found Via Baci about 6 months ago, we really had a great romantic evening there overlooking the city. We have been back there many times, and have had great service, food and atmosphere.
They also have great food and drink specials for kids or adults during the week.
It is a great restaurant worth checking out!

  • Used to be Great

    Review rating : 1out of 5   lwmcfarlin - 05/20/2008

I really enjoyed this restaurant a couple years ago, especially when ordering was done at the walk-up counter. Now, they've converted to a sit-down restaurant. While this isn't a bad thing in itself, it's made it impossible to have lunch there in under an hour. Service is extremely slow and drink glasses went empty for far too long (used to be able to walk up and refill at the drink station). Also, I came with a party of five co-workers with two buy-one-get-one for half off coupons. We were only allowed to use one coupon for the table. Keep in mind that workers at lunch are coming in as paying individuals, not a family at a table. This policy penalizes us for bringing in too many people even though it benefits the restaurant. I've recommended this place to many people in the past and this time (being the only person in the group who had been here before), I was somewhat embarrassed as the rest of the group was there due to my praise of the restaurant.

It seems like the restaurant has a goal of transforming into a trendy fine dining experience though the level of service just doesn't align with that goal. The food was as good as ever, but the other issues make the overall lunch experience a disappointment.

  • Awful food and service

This restaurant is for trendy hipsters only, that dine to look cool. The service was terrible, and the food, even worse

  • Unique, fresh ingredients = ++

I am fortunate enough to live within spittin' distance to this place and am I glad! We order to-go frequently.

Hand pressed crust (yum!), house made buffalo mozzarella (who else does THAT?), fresh, unusual ingredients all combine to make a truly gourmet pizza experience. No, it's not like NY Pizza ~ but if you open your mind to it you may find you like it even more!

My fave: red sauce, mozz & goat cheese, crimini 'shrooms, sundried tomatoes, and toasted pine nuts. A little slice of heaven!

  • A great pie

Want a unique pizza experience? Try Via Baci in Lone Tree. The Crust and toppings are first rate. They herbs and fire baked crust and great cheese make this place hard to beat.

    Try the Vesuvius!

  • Unique ingredient choices!

Everything is fresh, up to and including the mozzarella! As a previous reviewer stated, no, it's not like New York Pizzas ~ it's better!
Pizzas are personal size, so go crazy with the ingredients w/o offending your dinner companions. My personal fav: mozz. & goat cheese, sundried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, & pine nuts.
    Kids love it, too!

  • Disappointed

    Review rating : 2out of 5   ddbailey89 - 02/15/2007

I lived in NY most of my life and this pizza is nothing like NY pizza. While it is not terrible it's nothing like a hand tossed pizza crust. It's more like a cracker crust - not real pizza
