If you rebuild it, they will come. That's what David Racine and rest of his crew must have said to themselves after being forced to close their downtown operations for a new condo complex after two decades of success. And boy, were they right: The redux is considerably bigger than its predecessor, with 270 seats and its own free-parking structure in Capitol Hill, and remains among the most beloved of Denver's neighborhood restaurant/bars. What locals love best about Racines is that it's exactly the same: casual, comfortable, constantly packed with regulars and simply delicious.
Racines' unchanging menu is an international collection of comfort foods, including fajitas and burritos, cheesesteaks, the smoked gouda and turkey croissant, fish & chips and oatmeal. Also highly regarded are the primo margaritas mixed at its bar. The atmosphere is spectacular only in its lack of spectacle: There's nothing particularly hip or trendy about its retro decor, which means you don't have to fuss over hip attire either. Just show up with friends, kick back and dig in. You'll feel right at home.

Always consistant fare and pleasant staff, enough said.
Add Commentthe pancakes are just ok

I ordered the pancakes and was so excited that they put the fresh fruit IN THEM. But they were not only under done but the batter was running out of them. It was quickly resolved and the rest of the menu looked great. So, I will give it another try.
comfortable - great staff
Winderful food - staff that makes you feel right at home - Go Robert
Excellent portions and food

I have eaten at Racines for many years. They give large portions of excellent food at a reasonable price. i love the atmosphere as it is so comfortable and pretty. I also love their huge Nachoes and Prime Rib French Dip. They also have very good and strong Margaritas. I have found the service to be friendly and helpful. One of the Best places in Denver. i eat there often.
over rated, priced, & snobby

Was terribly unimpressed with the food, small portions and high prices. The taste was alright but not in comparison with the quality. The prices were higher than many of the good downtown eateries.
If you need "to be seen" this is definately where to go! But for me I go out to have an enjoyable time with the company I am in...not to make sure others see me.Mystery6
I've been a long time patron of Racine's, especially after the theatre. I loved going there for the food and the atmosphere. Their new place is OK, but I hate that they feel they needed TV screens blaring out to patrons who come for dining and talking with friends/family. I was there soon after they opened with friends, and the TV was on with horse racing, and our waiter was cheering them on and getting other people involved, and not paying any attention to his job. I do not like going to sports bar/restaurants, and this is exactly why. Please turn off or get rid of all those TV's or leave them on loud enough that just people at the bar can hear them, as you did in your old place. A little class, please!
LOVE IT!!!!!!
I'm from the Springs and any chance I get to eat at Racine's I do. I've always had a pleasant experiance. And I haven't ever had the same thing twice...I look forward to always trying new things..ask my partner I don't ever do that!!!
worth the wait
My favorite place to eat in Denver...for years...and always worth the wait.
enjoy the wait

if you plan to eat at racine's, i recommend that you stop by Wendy's (next door) on the way in, because even after you are seated, you should expect to wait an hour for your meal.
