For the discriminating pizza palate, these gourmet pizzas run the gamut, from simple combinations to exotic flavors that add a whole new dimension to the pie. Basil Doc's prides itself on custom orders, and no request is too strange or scary. Fresh ingredients are piled high on a thin Neapolitan crust with chunky tomato sauce and eclectic blends like the Athenian: feta cheese, kalamata olives, spinach and onion. The New Haven White Clam pizza is blanketed with clams, olive oil and lots of fresh garlic. A long list of ingredients helps diners break out of the proverbial pizza box and begin enjoying combinations they never dreamed of. There are three Denver locations: takeout locations in Wash Park and Crestmoor and a new eat-in restaurant in DTC.

Usually go to the Crestmoor location where takeout is only option. Always fresh ingredients -- good spicy pepperoni -- and good flavor, but sometimes a little over-cooked on the crust. Better than most, though.

They used to be better, only fair now for some reason. The best pies aren't even on this list...Pietra's in Wheatridge and Luciano's downtown.
VERY inconsistent....

You can get a great pizza hear or a terrible one. It's usually a poor one.
Go on a slow week night when they aren't busy. The oven will be clean and won't make them busy. When they are busy they have a burnt bottom because they don't clean the oven enough.
On a busy night you walk in and can smell the burning pizza's. You know you won't get a good pizza. I have mentioned it to the manager and he looks at you like you are crazy. He could care less. He must make enough money to do what he really cares about...what ever that is. It certainly isn't running a good pizzareria since he is never there on the weekends. I think biking is what he likes to do and bad pizza pays for his real passion.
I go back on occasion hoping for the really good pie they are capable of but I'm usually disappointed. Too bad..they obviously have the proper recipes and ingredients. They just need people who care about their product.
If I were in charge of franchising the company I would be mad because the washington park store tarnishes the whole franchise.Basil Doc's is Sensational

Basil Doc's is your ultimate neighborhood pizza restaurant. Producing consistent pies that are not your usual suspects. Try one of their "white" pizzas for truly SENSATIONAL flavor combinations. Made the old world way-one pie at a time with the freshiest ingredients. BDP ROCKS!

The pizza had all of the good ingredients but when we opened it at home it was burned on top and the crust was burned worse. As it was our 1st time to try their pizza, we decided it would be our last. I don't think we have ever had to worry about checking for problems in the box but we will be checking them in the future.

no question in my mind that this is the best pizza. and check out the handlebar & grille as well, if you are a cyclist!

Good pie, but for those of you that jump at the claim that Basil Doc's is like the infamous New Haven-esque pies that are the nectar of the gods, relax. Deflate. This is good pizza, but not Sally's or Pepe's or Modern. And it's a darn sight more pricey too...
