You've got to appreciate truth in advertising, especially from a greasy burger joint, and this one doesn't mince words; it was Fatburger when its first franchise opened in California 1952, and Fatburger it has remained, even in the diet-crazed new millennium and even in slim-bodied Colorado. But Fatburger isn't just any greasy burger joint. It's "the Last Great Hamburger Stand," a West Coast institution, and part of the reason (along with similar fast-food spots like In-N-Out and Tommy Burger) that the denizens of Los Angeles scoff at McDonald's flat sandwiches. Fatburger, now partially owned by talk TV's Montel Williams, is the only one of those hip Southern California burger chains to have spawned itself in Colorado. Hamburgers aren't the only slice of Americana to grace Fatburger's menu: there are chili dogs, ice-cream milkshakes, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and, of course, fries -- both skinny and fat. And if the "fat" in this place's name gives you the willies, try a Turkeyburger.

I have eaten at the top 3... parking is a bear at the Cherry Cricket... the burger is cheaper at the Number #2, Sedalia has a disperse crowd on the weekend but all the burgers in the top 3 are awesome.

  • Good, but at what cost?

Walk into any Fatburgers and you will get the same great taste! But the price of fame has gone up and the burger has gotten smaller. The menu has changed a little to take in the times (chicken or turkey) and if you really are craving that juicy, just enough grease to make it oh, so good, than throw down the extra dollars and grab the extra napkins!

Great chili cheese burger. You can tell they use real beef. Didn't think it was too expensive, not for what you get.
