Snuggled up at the edge of Lake Seminole, the Palace of the Orient has been a Tampa staple for two decades. Whimsical architecture (it falls somewhere between a pagoda and a spaceship) coupled with excellent food has made the restaurant a sentimental favorite of locals for generations -- lots of locals learned how to use chopsticks sitting at Palace Table, chasing their sweet and sour pork around their plate before trapping it up against that glistening mound of steamed rice.
More than history has made the Palace a local treasure. The food is exquisitely prepared with great attention to the unique qualities of regional Chinese cuisine. Familiar favorites such as orange peel chicken and beef with broccoli are joined by more exotic offerings. If you're feeling adventurous, ask your server to recommend something out of the ordinary. VMalozi - 12/29/2008Was pretty good in the past but has gone way down lately. Very disappointed on the last visit. So much so I won't go back or recomend to any else!!

Sweetpea3085 - 06/27/2008I Must Agree with the last person the best chinese is at Dragon Phoenix On Bay Pines The Food Is out of this world and They Deliver also. Its located in a strip mall next to a meat market and a sports bar. I must say its much better if you go in and eat the food comes to the table super hot just fantastic!

JConnors65 - 06/21/2008Yesterday was my first time eatting at Palace of the Orient. after being recommended by a friend. The food was excellent and beyond expectation. Prices are competitive with other cheap takeout restaurants like Panda Express, but the Palace's food is soooooo much better in quality. I will be dining in reguarly here in the future!!

suzukichamp99 - 06/18/2008Best chinese food in town. I've tried other asian restaurants and they all can't compare with the Palace's great taste or friendly service. Best of all they deliver so I don't even have to leave my house to get great tasting food!
