If you have a successful restaurant under your belt, it seems the natural next step is to open another. Such is the case with Jenny Yip, Chinese-American restaurateur, who co-owns the successful Bond St. Her much anticipated second serving comes in the way of Miss Yip Chinese Cafe, in the space once occupied by Bambu. The unique restaurant catches your eye with huge glass jars lined side by side on shelves along the window, filled with a variety of Chinese herbs and spices and add a nice decorative touch.

If you're looking for a menu filled with items of the pan asian/fusion variety -- you've come to the wrong place. Miss Yip is all about classic Chinese comfort food. General Tso, sesame or honey chicken, moo shu pork, roast duck, orange peel beef, sweet & sour shrimp and more are well prepared and quite delicious. Swing by for lunch for a tasty selection of dim sum.

Gem in Miami. Delicious Delicious Delicious! You have to try it out for yourself... Once you try it, you too, will become a regular. Seems that Miss Yip has been making some changes bc everything about this restaurant was great!

  • Good, but with certain faults!

I ate there just this evening, and, while the food and service was quite good (particularly the BBQ spare ribs), they seemed to be in a BIG RUSH to bus the dirty dishes off the table. I mean, when I picked up the last BBQ rib on the plate the now empty plate, except for the leftover sauce on the plate (which I had intended to roll that last rib in to get more sauce into the rib meat) was snatched up and removed from the table before I could even object. It was gone in an instant!!

They should slow that bus boy down so that the patrons can savor and enjoy the food a little better, yes?

This place is mediocre at best! And that's being polite! The service was good and the atmosphere nice (althought left over from the previous tenant) but the food was bland bland bland! And Jenny honey.... drop the attitude or do us all a favar and move back to NYC with the rest of the flop shop buffets! We don't need ya or your Swansons Select fare!!!!! And.....If you're looking for great Asian food that actually deserves a good review and not just an ass kissing session from the Editor, check out Nobu at the Shore Club! Even Yuengs is better than this crap!

  • Not too bad

South Beach prices for Dim Sum. Menu portions smaller than mainland dishes. The dim sum and menu has been good on many visits. However on a recent visit with friends, we had a feeling the Dim Sum Chef had changed. Har Gow and Sui Mei had a different taste and flavor, as did other dishes. Even the good ones disappoint occasionally. If you don't want to go to Miami this a generally a good alternative.

  • Not Quite Hong Kong

Miss Yip's is much better than Pao ever was and with slightly more reasonable prices. But for better Dim Sum at less than half the price, go to Kon Chau in west Dade. But Jenny Yip is working hard with her restaurant and service is far above average for Sobe. This is the place to go for Chinese food if you are on South Beach.
