If you ask an Atlanta native where to get good Chinese food, Buford Highway will invariably come out of their mouth. While Buford Highway has been the one of the only places to get authentic Asian cuisine in the metro Atlanta area for years, Sandy Springs is catching up quickly. One of the prime examples is Canton Cooks. Dau and Kathy Tang, formerly of China Cooks, own and run this Cantonese restaurant located in a strip mall next to a Whole Foods Market. If you have a taste for the unusual, try the popular frog's legs in kung pao sauce or the steamed and batter-fried duck nuggets. The restaurant boasts plenty of fresh seafood choices and has a tank full of lobsters to prove it. The interior is nondescript, much like your local Chinese takeout joint, with bright fluorescent lights reflecting off the plastic covered tables.

Cedar311 - 05/16/2008Good food and friendly efficient service. Best hot and sour soup in the area. Lo Mein is great as are their soups for a quick lunch. Everything is good here...and going out of the box for the snow pea tops and their lettuce wrap beef is innovative way to spend an evening. Always full at lunch, quick service is a plus. In the evening, many Asian customers which is a good sign of food quality, as well as locals fill the booths and tables. We drive 10 miles (one way) for a great meal here and are are never disappointed.
