Harried shoppers, rejoice! Take a break from the Rockville Pike frenzy over meze and teach the kids about fast food, Middle Eastern-style. This casual cousin of the DC and Virginia Lebanese Tavernas has limited style and a pared-down menu, but it serves up plenty of big flavor at small prices. The ultimate feast offers seven little mezze grazing nibbles, then succulent kabobs with rice. Enjoy a quick break at rustic pine tables or grab counter fare. Make a meal of meze, tempting little appetizers like falafel, hummus topped with ground meat and nuts, and kibbeh, or choose from the blackboard of main course specials. Crisp and juicy rotisserie chicken with garlic sauce is a winner, as is spiced and sliced lamb in pita bread. Herb-spiked pilafs and layered lasagna-like moussaka are great food introductions for kids. This is fast family food with panache, served by a helpful staff determined to make your day. -- Tracey E. Hi, this is Grace from Lebanese Taverna. We do appreciate all of our customer comments. It gives us the chance to improve our restaurants and continue to provide guest delight. Each comment is taken seriously and will be looked into with a serious heart.

I just wanted to write and make a correction on the prices though. These are restaurant prices and not cafe prices which are less expensive.

Our appetizers range from $5.00-$10.00 with the majority being $6.00 and only only 4 (out of 43) being over $7.00.

Our Entrees range from $15.00-$23.00 with the majority being $15.00 or $16.00 and several higher priced entree for seafood and mixed grills.

Our desserts are all $6.50 and this is just recent, prior to January, the most expensive was $4.50.

Thank you giving us the opportunity to write to you. Please feel free to send me any comments to lebanesetaverna@mac.com.

    Thanks and cheers!

Took my boyfriend here for his birthday. The food was pretty good. I liked the ambiance a lot. Very trendy and clean looking restaurant.

  • Expensive - unhygenic

    Review rating : 1out of 5   camelsnout - 06/10/2007

this review is for both DC and VA locations not MD.

    Pros:
Couple of good middle eastern dishes.

    Cons:
    -- Bad Hygene:
glasses (wine, regular) and plates were not clean. But they were kind enough to replace the glasses for us.

    -- Expensive Price:
This is simply not a cheap eats its miscategorized. A date will cost you for two dishes and drink (no seconds) north of 75.00 easily - My girl friend and I are teachers...

    appetizers 8.50 x 2 = 17$
    entrees 16.50 x 2 = 33$
    2 beer or wine 8.50 x 2 = 17$
    dessert 9 x 2 = 18$

    87.00 + Tax + tips ~ 120.00$

    -- Rushed:
We felt a little rushed. The waiter was overworked, he was curteous and doing his best.

overall places like sequoia, la vante's (dupont) cost us the same for the money we spent. Many others that provide a better experience and fuller stomach =)
