A visit to U of M wouldn't be complete without a stop at this favorite all-American grill. A popular retreat for alums, students and families, Annie's is also a great place to catch a view of the Minneapolis skyline on the rooftop deck during good weather. The restaurant is legendary for its juicy burgers, which come in all sorts of combinations: mushroom cheddar, bacon cheese, guacamole burgers and three-bun burgers.
The eatery's also known for its french fries, which are hand-cut, and deep fried to golden perfection. You couldn't really call it a parlor unless it also served some sort of icy sweet-tooth concoctions as well. Those just happen to be another specialty, and you simply cannot leave without ordering a huge three-scoop malt or hot fudge sundae, which is accompanied by a pitcher filled with extra fudge. -- Amie Leavitt

I went back for the first time in 13 years and the burget I had with cheese and bacon was honestly one of the best I ever had, melted in my mouth. Good prices w/ a cute old fashioned atmosphere.

This is the only burger joint that I have seen that serves burgers the way I like them, sour cream and chive. The hot fudge sundaes are definitaley worth saving room for.
