The food is comfort cuisine, served up in massive portions at petite prices, with a sense of humor on the side. Items show up on the menu with names like the "Loose-meat Pete" and the "Big O." The crowd favorite, hands down, is the shorty burger: these modestly sized yet addicting burgers come "m.o.p." -- with mustard, onion, and pickle -- and are priced to be downright habit-forming at less than a buck apiece.

Relaxed and decorated down, the restaurant has a comfy bar and a pleasant clutter of photos and artifacts on the walls -- the best item, however, is a portrait of Michelangelo's David with a hinged metal leaf that sounds an alarm when lifted. Great for families, prices at Pete & Shorty's are stuck in 1973. This concept eatery is from the guys who brought the world "Hooters," but never fear, the waitstaff is fully clothed at all times. -- Lisa Galloway

  • Finally great food and great service at the Same Place!!!!

    My wife and I used to go out all the time but stopped because just about everywhere you go now has sub-par waitstaff that have a serious chip on their shoulder. Both my wife and I used to Wait tables and are exceptional tippers but finding even "ok" service is almost impossible.
    When we drove into the parking lot, at about 12:40 on a friday, they were packed but because of the review here we said we will give it a chance.
    We went in and were amazed the waitstaff were all over it, placed our order and were blown away with a waitstaff that actually knows how to wait tables fast and efficiently without being rude and pushing you out the door. Hats off to the management ,waitstaff, and cooks for making our experience an exceptional one.

    SERVICE IS LIKE NONE SEEN TODAY. EMPLOYEES TRY TO MAKE DINNING A PLEASURE. FOOD IS EXCELLENT AND PRICE CANT BE BEAT.

  • Kind of Hard to Find.......

    We passed it twice, but finally found it and loved both the food and the prices. The Grouper sandwich is excellent as are the French fries with thick ketchup.
