When Rhoda's closed after 70 years of reputable business, folks from the neighborhood of Squirrel Hill quaked with fear -- where would they get their corned-beef sandwiches? They needn't have feared. Under capable ownership, Kazansky's is a cleaned-up, better-lighted and completely remodeled update of a typical New York Jewish deli -- without the New York prices -- legendary not only for its sandwiches but for a host of other delectables, from knishes and kreplach and kasha to smoked fish and blintzes. The whitefish salad, potato latkes and lox are especially to die for. But you can still just come in and get a six-pack of beer if you really want. Oy vey, who knew?

We go there all the time. Love their chili, sandwiches and breakfasts. We get together with some out-of-town friends for an annual gathering, and we always take the deli from here. Our friends say every year that they have never tasted deli so good. Owners and employees are great, real characters, as are the regulars.

awesome! the soup is homemade and the best in the city! they have an infinite selection of beers; the only in the area.. the sandwiches are incredible, made to order, and reasonably priced.. my favoire is the E, roasted turkey, pesto, smoked mozz, tomato, grilled on sourdough.
