Black Bean Deli is so small and nondescript that it's easy to miss as you whiz by on busy Orange Avenue. Tucked in an aging strip shopping center just off Fairbanks Avenue, the little family --owned eatery hangs out its ''Open'' sign weekdays for lunch and dinner, with mom in the kitchen, cousins and other relatives helping out. Convivial patrons from all walks of life -- construction workers to attorneys -- crowd in for a quick takeout that's far more reasonably priced than the posh eateries on nearby Park Avenue.
The namesake soup is hearty enough to make a lunch, but pair it with a scrumptious pressed Cuban sandwich and it's a meal made in heaven. Big appetites go for the pork platter or tender, peppery Spanish baked chicken. The restaurant is tiny, so most customers opt to order their goods to-go. There are a few barstools lining the front window, however, if you prefer to dine in. The to-go carton is heaped with black beans and yellow rice, fried plantains and a simple iceberg salad. True fans top it all off with the melt-in-your-mouth creme caramel. It's a noontime splurge worth every calorie.

The Black Bean Deli is just fantastic. The quality of the food is second to none, almost feels as if I was in Cuba! The portions are perfect & the staff is very inviting. Andres Corton & family have really made this an Orlando icon. He has talked about making a patio outside w/a few tables & if he does this place is going to be an even bigger hit! See ya there!

I recently visited this deli and I was pleased with service. I would recommend this place to everyone and the only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because the chicken portion of the chicken dinner platter was a little skimpy. Other than that, the food was pretty good. I will go there again :0)
Andy's Place
Not on Orange Av but on Orlando Ave (17-92)Andy is the man, the best Cubano.
The Best!
We moved from Orlando BUT one of the things I miss most is my "BLACK BEAN DELI FIX!" There were times I would crave a meal from there so much, I woudl stop whatever I was doing to pick-up a to-go order. I wish someone would tell me how they make theor salad dressing & what wonderful magical combination of spices they put on their chicken!
