Both die-hard carnivores and animal-friendly vegetarians will find a favorite dish at Calypso. The Caribbean restaurants menu has remained the same for several years, and loyal diners like it that way. People from all over Nashville report regular cravings for their black bean salads, rotisserie chicken, veggie pita sandwiches, sweet potatoes and tiny corn muffins. The atmosphere is cheerful, and even though both locations (there's also one at 2424 Elliston Place) are almost always crowded, the friendly wait staff makes sure everyone is seated and served quickly. When youre at the cash register, you might want to pick up one of their homemade desserts. -- Heather Johnson

great food
this is a great place to eat and the service is fantastic.
Comments(0)|Add CommentSticky floors and tables.....service lacking.
I have been to this place twice and BOTH times my table was sticky and not clean....and the floor was filthy. The place is dirty. My food was just OK. How this place got on the list of cheap eats convinces me this BEST OF CITY is a sham. Their prices are NOT cheap. There are many more deserving MEAT AND THREE restaurants not even mentioned. Who put this list together anyway....no one who lives in Nashville I bet!
One of my favorite places
I absolutely LOVE Calypso. The chicken is great(I like the bbq sauce) Love the greens! I love the salads as well. The bean sald rocks! I am a Californian and have been here in Nashville for 10 years, and was getting tired of just meat&Three stuff. I'm happy Nashville has many new places to eat-especially Calypso. I also like a menu that doesn't have 100 items...It ensures the items they do have will be consistant! In fact, I think I'm hungry. Meet me at Calypso!
GREAT FOOD!
The rotisserie chicken is wonderful and so are all of the available sauces! The jerk sauce is my fave. Great side dishes, cool atmosphere.
