The windows of the Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill are filled from top to bottom with typical flea market fare -- colorful glass bottles, old china dolls, ragged and faded, boxes of old 45s. Enter the warehouse-type building, and in the center of the antique vendors' cages full of treasure you'll find the Bar & Grill part of the Westport Flea Market. Order at the window, sit down and wait for your number to be called. It may seem like a typical snack bar at first, but as soon as you get that huge burger, juicy and piled high with onions, lettuce and cheese, you'll know you're not at a mere snack shack. No matter what you order in this dim, noisy little restaurant, you'll go away stuffed and happy. And when you've finished eating, maybe had a couple of beers to go with your meal, you can shop the day away in the surrounding booths. Make sure you have a few hours to explore. Rumor has it Westport Flea Market Bar & Grill will be replaced by a Hooters in 2005. Stay tuned for details. -- Kate Cagley

THE BEST HANDS DOWN
The concierge at our hotel told us to go the Flea Market, "Try the BEST burger in KC" he said, well he was right!!!. We love this place! A throwback to what restaurants are all about, GREAT FOOD, Awesome Prices and a return trip is already being planned
Comments(0)|Add CommentGreat Burgers way over priced.
We have driven on many occations from South Johnson County down to the flea market for our burger crave. But on the last visit between 2 adults and 2 kids all sharing of course we dropped over $40 just on burgers and fries. Drinks were $10. Thats way to much for that kind of meal of to us. It will be awhile before we head back again. There are other places just as good as we have found and alot cheaper to the wallet.
