Reminiscent of the authentic taco stands you find on just about every corner in Southern California and all over Mexico, Zumba is as close to the real deal as you can get in the Midwest. This colorful, hip little taco joint has the best guacamole we've had in these parts, and is offered as both a side dish and one of several toppings for the big, sloppy, use-a-fork burritos, crispy or soft-sided tacos, quesadillas, and such. You can top off your order with any or all of the salsas at a self-serve station. Quality ingredients are key, and Zumba prepares its tacos with juicy grilled meats on hot, soft corn or flour tortillas. The rice is peppery and fluffy with bits of sauteed onion and tomato, and the beans are thick and garlicky. Baja-style battered fish tacos are pretty darn close to authentic, amigo. The menu comprises just five entrees, but you can mix and match until your options increase exponentially. Find a seat on one of the stools at the limited counter space, or better yet, get your order to go and make some margaritas at home.
