Many a New Yorker who finds himself cut off from the Italian-centric dining culture of his home city has wandered into Reale's Pizzeria with a feeling similar to that which Columbus must have felt when he finally spotted land. Part of this is due to the fact that Reale's is itself run by transplanted ex-New Yorkers. Sinatra filters through the speakers as diners munch on Italian treats such as cannoli, manicotti and a seafood linguine dish made with clams, mussels, scallops and a thin pasta, all covered in spicy tomato sauce. It's the heavy-on-the-cheese pizza, however, that wins particularly high marks from those in the know. There's a marked atmosphere of closeness here; besides being family-owned and operated, a steady stream of regulars makes Reale's their second home. -- Barrett Brown

Reales Pizza and Calzones are the best you will find in Austin, in Texas and even New York...I've only been in Austin Texas for a year. I relocated from Brooklyn New York, So i know good pizza when I taste it....5 out of 5 stars....i'll be a regular at Reales
Brings Back NY's Best
I MOVED TO AUSTIN IN 1967 FROM NY AND STILL CANNOT FIND ANY OTHER PIZZA OR ITALIAN DISHES THAT MATCH REALE'S FLAVORS. I RECOMMEND THEIR PIZZA TO EVERYONE I MEET THAT SAY THEY CANNOT FIND A GOOD TASTING PIZZA IN THIS AREA . THE SAUCE IS AN AUTHENTIC RECIPE THAT THE OWNER MAKES HIMSELF, THAT HE LEARNED FROM HIS FAMILY IN UPSTATE WAPPINGER FALLS, NY. HIS CRUST IS OUT OF THIS WORLD. HIS MEATBALL SUBS ARE THE BEST. JUST ASK FOR BOB AND ENJOY A GOOD OLD HOMETOWN CONVERSATION.

Was expecting more than I found. I was seated in a back area on the side, away from the major part of the restaurant. Didn't like it..The Pizza was good..not great..wouldn't come back just for that. The pasta dishes were Excellent as was the bread. next time back, I will just work on the pasta and meat dishes. Wine list is OK for this size of restaurant. Music was very loow in the area we were in..We just seemed to be isolated from what we came there for and to listen to Sinatra. Nice place, but New York it is not...With that said, I am sure we will return, just wasn't the place we expected and wanted to make home.
