Ruth Chris Beverly Hills
We were regulars for years but after two very disappointing evenings have not gone there again, my favorite: Jar on Beverly Drive
Add CommentThe only real Ruth's Chris is in Beverly Hills?
Apparently someone hasn't been to the one on Broad St. in New Orleans.
great service, good side dishes, but
Thank goodness Morton's opened in Woodland Hills.
I understand that Ruth's recently went from dry aged prime to wet aged pre-portioned cryovac.
They never were able to cook my steak correctly
I also hear the the "lobster" in the bisque is now crawfish
always great service, but the food is severely lacking for the priceDisappointed
I am a long time fan of Houstons, decided last weekend to try Ruth's. The atomsphere was very nice and the staff attentive, but the Filet was tough. We will not be back.
Ruth's Chris, Beverly Hills
The only real Ruth's Chris is the one in Beverly Hills. You can't expect Beverly Hills service in the valley, come on... The one in BH is magnificent! The service is personal and attentive, the food is succulent and prepared perfectly to your desire. I cook a mean steak myself so I can't justify spending the money for a mediocre Morton's or Maestro's burn job. You are better off going to Wood Ranch Grill if you are in the Valley, spending any more than that is just pretentious unless you want to go to the real deal. Go to Ruth's in BH and get the best steak money can buy!

These comments relate to the Pasadena Ruth Chris Steakhouse, not Woodland Hills, where I have never been
Took wife and teenage daughter to the Pasadena Ruth Chris for our 25th wedding anniversary. Were expecting great things, considering the reputation and pricing. This night, this store seemed to be pandering to young after-work 20-30 somethings who were clogging the bar and lobby area. We had reservations, but 30 minutes later we were stuck in a dark, remote corner. 4 different service people approached us offering pricy bottled water (decline, decline, decline, tell the staff to not return with bottled water for sale). We ordered vin ordinaire by the glass - $14.00 / each, steak entrees, three sides and the daughter ordered the vegie platter. The potatoes au grautin were simply yesterday's baked potatoes chunked, mixed wtih tasteless mild cheddar cheese and reheated in a grautin - tasteless, boring and pretty greasy, with no sign of bechamel or cream sauce or flavor. The creamed spinach was not made to order, was grey, tasteless and very slimey. The sauted mushrooms were ok but sparse. The veggie platter was built around grilled portobellos and was acceptable, including pretty crisp broccoli flowers, firm green asparagus and a firm broiled tomato. The waiter put a heavy hussle on a this-night's-special steak, which we ordered. It seemed aged to death. We sent it back - it was nasty. My NY strip was ok, why not at the price? Plainly, we were expecting Pacific Dining Car. We got Denny's. Will not return. This chain went public in 2005 has over 120 locations. In sum, Ruth Chris is a chain food factory aimed at those who 1) have more money than taste; and 2) don't know a better place (Pacific Dining Car). On the other hand, there seemed to be a lot of action at the bar and that is worth noting in Pasadena.
