Born in Beverly Hills in 1978 of one woman's talent for making cheesecake, Cheesecake Factory restaurants quickly exploded nationwide. Now a second-generation family affair, the chain keeps its creative edge without sacrificing quality. Folks line up for "tons of fun" layered burgers, Hawaiian pizza with pineapple, San Remo pizza with Brie, mahi-mahi soft tacos, avocado egg rolls, and (of course) 35 kinds of cheesecake -- from banana cream to pumpkin. Lighter eaters go for Cobb or Luau salad, and Cheesecake Factory caters to the egg affinity of the Sunday brunch bunch.

The atmosphere is California-sleek-meets-art- deco. The clientele includes college kids on dates, couples after the movies, dessert-seeking families, and seniors on a budget. This is upscale chain food, with class as well as sass, and the more than 200 menu items are innovative enough to keep you coming back. Dessert may reign here, but Factory meatloaf, Caribbean steak, heavenly mashed potatoes, and pad Thai with chicken or shrimp please everyone.

Here in Thousand Oaks our Cheesecake Factory sets the standard for great service from well trained wait staff who are attractive people, fine food that is piled too high on your plate, fair prices and bread that is sooo delicious. Even the background music is pleasant.

The problem? It is so popular that the wait to be seated can be bothersome.

Elmer opened the CF years before in Woodland Hills, off of DeSoto ave. His wife passed on but the quality remained. When Elmer joined his dear wife, the son, David took over and really put West Coast Cheesecake on the map. Oh, and David, either lower the price or make the slices bigger; mom wouldn't be very happy. Guilt Food, But Good Food....

Yippeee!!! A "Cheesecake Factory Restaurant" recently opened up near "The Boise (Idaho) Mall. The food is good and copious. And, it's been our experiences (in So. Cal.) to find the staff very friendly and professional. Don't overlook their sandwiches and salads. What, I gotta rate the cheesecake? Ok, it's great!!! The name says it all.

Yes, I do. We bring my granddaughter with us and they are always SO accomodating. Of course the food is so good and within our price range. Can't wait to go again.

Best Dessert Menu

I love the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake. It is the richest, sweetest, cake I have ever had. I have the world's biggest sweet tooth and this cheesecake gets me everytime. Also, I always get the BBQ chicken pizza and personally I think its better than the one from CPK.

The Cheesecake factory is great! It's beautifully decorated and i has marvelous food. I dont rmemebr what I had because it was a while ago but i know its good. They have good coffee ice cream..:D
