Named for St. Finbars in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, a school and parish attended by the owners of Finbars Italian Kitchen, this authentic New York-style Italian trattoria is a mix of East and West coast styles. Located on Pacific Coast Highway near Old Town Seal Beach, the restaurant houses both a cocktail lounge and separate sports room to ensure all guests are happy. Both the lunch and dinner menus offer a medley of appetizers, pastas, sandwiches and salads plus thin crust pizza, while the selection of Left Coast Pastas is an ode to the Golden State. For those counting calories, the restaurant even offers a decent list of healthy favorites without sacrificing flavor. Bring on the garlic, please!

What we love about Finbars is that it is always changing - not the menu (no need for change there) but the restaurant itself! There is now a nice lounge, a sports bar area, the main dining room and a quieter area in the back to eat. We have never been disappointed in any food choices - my husband loves the Ravioli Combo and the BBQ Chicken Chopped salad is wonderful. All their pasta dishes are worth a try - the tastes are so different and unique - oh, and delicious too! It is a great place for couples and fun place for groups!

  • Best Family Restaurant in Seal Beach

We've been going to Finbars since it first opened in Seal Beach. It's our best home cooked meal away from home. The food is the best, Joseph and the staff are always so welcoming, and you always leave knowing that you just had a delicious and healthy meal.
Go with a date, take your family and friends - you won't be disappointed.

  • Always good

We have been going to Finbars since they were in their original smaller location in Seal Beach and glad they stayed local. We have tried most of the menu but seem to keep coming back for the vegetable lasagna (me) and the Finbars chopped salad (my husband).....yum. But there is all sorts of good stuff to choose from........enjoy. And Joseph is a great host.

I have been to Finbars in Seal Beach and also the one in Costa Mesa. They have such great food! The one in Seal has a more 'authentic' environment, but they are both really good!

  • Great food!!!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   sheezsamm - 01/19/2007

We are regulars there and always love the food and people. Try their lasagna or cappellini pomodoro with shrimp..yummm. If you go for lunch, you must try the bbq chop chicken salad!
The manager who is always there is a local and knows everyone that comes in...great customer service!
If you go early in the evening check out their lounge, it's comfy and dark and great to start with a drink on a date.

  • Love The People and the Food

    Review rating : 5out of 5   jferraro808 - 01/12/2007

We have been 3 times now.
Ok, so the food is amazing, but its the PEOPLE, that we WILL return to see.
Our server turned us on to these Espresso Martinis, wow.
The guy thats always there that wears aloha shirts and lives in Seal Seach is funny and told us exactly what to order, and we will be back too get it again, (it was the Carbonara with grilled shrimp).
The Bartender mut be just off the plane from the Bronx, he was the real deal and kinda cute.
So Go to Finbars for the food, but DO NOT miss out on the PEOPLE.

  • Homemade and Fantastic

    Review rating : 5out of 5   konawop - 01/12/2007

Finbars is Fantastic, Fun, and a Real Bargain., the food is homemade, not pre made frozed stuff you find at California Pizza Kitchen, Romanos or any of those other chain Restaurants.
The Music is great and the wine and drinks are yummy.
    We Will Be Back...
