With old rifles nailed to the wall and checkered clothes cloaking the collection of tables, Bad to the Bone looks like something out of the Wild West. Located in the very civilized San Juan Capistrano, this barbecue joint is the real McCoy featuring a slow-roasted method over hickory and applewood that lasts for 12 to 24 hours. The result is tender meat that literally falls off the bone and is transferred directly from the pit to the plate. You can create a several course meal by adding a salad, ample-size baked potato and soup to your meal. There are also several Family Packages -- some that serve up to 25 people -- for larger parties. Although Bad to the Bone does offer beer and wine, it's still wise to BYOB: Bring Your Own Bib!

The beef brisket and baby backs are the bomb!!! We've tried many bbq places in OC and Long Beach, nothing compares to BTTB!!! They not only have smokers but a big bbq pit with real wood and fire!!! Many of the meats are also grilled on the fire! Awesome! Best onion rings with dipping sauces I've every had! BBQ sauce is perfect, good beans, and corn muffins. In a strip mall in SJC - very nice atmosphere!!!! GO!!!

amberoosky89 - 05/15/2008I recently attended a party catered by Bad to the Bone. I have never particularly been a huge barbecue fan, but I decided to give it a try. BTTB definitely converted me! The food is outstanding. I especially recommend the pulled pork -- melt-in-your-mouth delicious!

rsslammer - 03/10/2007On our 1st trip to BTTB bbq, we loved the flavor of the meat. The hickory/applewood smoke was really nice to taste in every bite. The bbq sauce also had a wonderful flavor of smoke and mild heat. We reccommend any dish with the tri tip.

charles111960 - 01/29/2007I love Beef Brisket and this is the only place that does it just right. The BBQ sauce is great, not too sweet, just right. No reason to think about going anywhere else for BBQ. Simply the best in Orange County.
