Some might come upon this San Gabriel sandwich shop, tucked into a corner of a strip mall, and feel as though they just discovered it before anyone else. But it has definitely been discovered by local fans who pour in for a weekend lunch of hearty meatball sandwiches, spicy fries and a cold bottle of... well, where to start? Stuffed Sandwich, in addition its eponymous stuffed sandwiches, offers over 700 bottled beers from the U.S., Tahiti, Russia, Holland, Brazil and beyond. The glass refrigerators that line one wall of the restaurant are full-to-bursting with both known and unusual brews, a display that may leave even the most show-offy beerophile slack-jawed.

If you find yourself staring blankly at the rows and rows of labels, take a moment to chat with owner Sam Samaniego, an in-the-know buff on both the ways of brews and wine, about your beer needs before making your choice. There are also a handful of beers on tap, and the taster platter is a good way to get to know those particular foams (each glass sits on a tiny circle bearing the beer's moniker). Whatever libation you order, pair it up with one of the massive sandwiches on the menu, but plan on saving at least half for dinner -- "stuffed" is indeed an accurate description.
