Of course it's not that weird -- tandoori chicken was recently named as the single most popular food item in the United Kingdom. But how many Irish pubs with Indian buffets also feature shrines dedicated to Jerry Garcia and Bob Marley, a black-light air-hockey table and deep-fried American snacks? The mix of influences attracts a strange mix of people: Irish soccer fans, Dead-loving hippie kids, North Beach tourists and Financial District office workers out for a cheap meal and and a pint or two. Somehow the whole thing becomes remarkably San Francisco.

The place is famous for its beer -- particularly the prices thereof. Pints of Guinness are $2 during happy hour ($3.25 otherwise). Pitchers of Pabst Blue Ribbon are a mere $5 all the time. There's a selection of about 25 brews on tap, and with hundreds of bottled brands to choose from as well, you'll never notice there's not a cocktail bar. As it turns out, Guinness quenches the fire of lamb vindaloo remarkably well. The Indian food is a surprisingly good all-you-can-eat buffet; if you miss it, you can munch on more conventional munchies all night long. -- Julie Ross

This is one place that the locals cherish. You can eat good food, including beers, for under $20. What more can you ask for? They even have DirecTV sports packages, so you can watch just about any game live. Multiple happy hours and "buy now drink later" token system makes Kennedy's unbeatable in San Francisco. Try it, you'll like it! Check out their web site for discount food coupon.

  • Not that bad!

I remember going to this place a few years back with my girlfriend at the time... We'd drop by, have some indian food (which actually is pretty good, and this coming from an Indian guy, so I know good Indian food from not so great) and share a few laughs.... The service isnt the Best, but it's a pretty relaxed place, as are the hosts, so you can't really complain. So contrary to some of the negative reviews; For anyone looking to having some good Indian food, maybe a few beers, (they also serve a few wines you know!) in a kick back atmosphere, i'd say stop by and give it a try... Ciao

How drunk was the reviewer that thought this place was great? Dirty, dank, and unfriendly are the best words I can come up with. Cheap Guinness is good, but not worth hanging out there.

I'm so sick of things being described as "so San Francisco". The Golden Gate Bridge is so San Francisco, the Mission is so San Francisco. This city IS San Francisco. And tryig to sip a Guiness with the smell of curry permiating the ENTIRE block is nausiating. It's full of tourists on sunny days and the staff is pretentious. But then again aren't most San Franciscians? Anyway, I did not like it here very much. They serve Guiness so I give it a couple stars JUST for that.
