Much of the Metreon complex is casual, and most of the places here cater to kids. But Jillian's, a huge chain bar-restaurant, is a place for grown-ups to drink, dance, watch sports and hook up. The 70,000-foot space serves as a dance club from Thursday through Saturday nights, rocking until 2AM to DJ music that ranges from Top 40 to salsa. The rest of the time, it's mostly a sports bar, with beer specials during Monday Night Football and lots of pool tables. Jillian's also houses an entertainment complex that includes virtual bowling.

The confusing menu ranges from stroganoff to quesadillas, seeming and tasting far too ambitious for a place where food seems to be an afterthought for most of the patrons. If you stick to basic American food or appetizers, you'll be OK. The pot roast is fork-tender and braised with root vegetables and pumpkin. Stay away from the kitchen's attempts at fusion cuisine.
