In Short
Located in an industrial area on the eastern side of Potrero Hill, Café Cocomo transports its clientele to a hot Havana nightclub. A large patio complete with a small bar, umbrella tables and palm trees greet clubbers at the entrance. Once inside, there's a huge dance floor, stage, bar and an upstairs area with pool tables and yet another bar. The well-dressed, sexy crowd is fun, yet serious about dancing.

Look Good
For salsa nights, don't show up in jeans and a T-shirt. "Classy" attire is required.

Add CommentLow on pretense!?!

I've been a regular at Cafe Cocomo for years. Just recently, I was turned away for not wearing a collared shirt, although I'd been wearing shirts with no collars ever since I started salsa dancing at Cafe Cocomo. This place is no different from other
pretentious nightclubs that reserve the right to arbitrarily dictate who can/can't gain entrance. I still plan to go to Cafe Cocomo for the salsa dancing, but with a reserved attititude for this place, which could use some loosening up and yes, genuinely be
"low on pretention" as their website disengenuously claims.LaHart9833's Review
Five Stars to the great Tim Price Orch. Would love to hear them again.
SalseraSa's Review

I've been to lots of salsa clubs from sacramento to San Jose-if you want to go and DANCE, this is the place to go. Guaranteed youll be asked to dance. I'm speaking for women. We all know that alot of salsa clubs have their own "clicks" meaning people already go with a partner or a group of people and they stay within that crowd and only dance w/ certain people. I didn't experience that at COCOMO :)
