    During the day the Gold Dust Lounge is full of little old ladies mixed with tourists off the Powell Street cable car popping in for a quick one. They drop a copper penny into the gold pan of the iron prospector statue collecting his tribute at the door, then walk carefully onto the somewhat threadbare red velvet carpet to make their way to the bar. Mirrors and gaudy chandeliers are everywhere; you might think you were back in the 1850s if it weren't for all the blue hair throwing back those Tanquerays. But at night things change. The club has featured live Dixieland music longer than anyone can remember, and it's still going strong. The audience tends to be a bit long in the tooth, but that changes when the blues band comes in and turns up the volume. The Gold Dust Lounge is a San Francisco tradition; it has always been a fun place, and it still is. --Doug Konecky

      YOU ARE CORRECT. The bitch hitted on my husband until I was about to strangle her. She is there to work not to service men that are patrons and bring business there. The place used to be very respected until that witch started working there. Now she has poisoned every professional waitress that work over there because she wants them to hit on customers husbands like her. Do I have to tell her I am doctor for her to leave my husband alone. My husband has ADHD and cannot sit still but she thinks the poor guy is disrespecting me because she is so stupid and she throws herself at my husband in front of me. My husband is not disrespecting me he has ADHD. This stupid bitch with rude manners thinks he is hitting on her. Do I have to air my husband's sickness to her to show how stupid she is ? NO!!!!!!!!, because even if my husband was flirting with her she could have respected me as a customer not throw herself in front of me. My husband does not even want to go ther any more because of her rude unprofessional behavior. How can she think any normal man will replace a doctor for a wiatress. FIRE HER BECAUSE SHE ALSO FIGHTS WITH OTHER STAFF MEMBERS IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS. SHE SCREAMS VERY RUDELY AT OTHER PEOPLE INCLUDING HER OWN FELLOW STAFF MEMBERS MENOR WOMEN. THE PLACE HAS LOST ITS GOOD REPUTATION BECAUSE OF HER.

      Beware a red-headed waitress whose name starts with "D" - she tried to take our drinks and throw myself and 4 friends out for ordering water for our designated driver (claiming that everyone in the bar had to order a drink, even though she admitted that she had been serving water all night), and then called the cops on a man who asked for one last drink before last-call (and wouldn't let him get his jacket). Seriously, I've been a waitress and a bouncer, and you can be firm without being down-right insulting, esp. to locals who come there often, as one of my party was. Honestly, unless you're a rich businessman who likes a lap dance (which she willingly gives to those she thinks she can get lots of money from) don't go there. She'll ruin your night.
