As much as the exterior of Arthur's looks like a country restaurant from the Little House on the Prairie' days, it's even more rustic inside. Wagon wheels, weathered farm tools and southern folk art adorns every wall of the barn-like dining area. With a menu full of home-style cooking, Arthur's is a reproduction of the 1920s lifestyle. The kitchen's lunch menu is simple and straightforward: fried chicken, burgers and various cuts of steak, but this restaurant's calling card is its breakfast offerings. Families -- especially on the weekends -- are frequently seen waiting on Tustin Avenue early in the morning for Arthur's early bird specials consisting of eggs (anyway you like em), hash browns, extra thick bacon and the kitchen specialty: biscuits and gravy. The prices are a bit high for such simple fare, but the portions make up for that.

It was OK
My wife and I went to Arthurs for he first time this past weekend and I gotta say it was just OK,,,the service was slow, the bisquits tasted like they were canned and we're not sure if the gravy was home made or not other than that the food was good however as we were sitting there the waitresses were chatting in the kitchen area and one of them dropped the " F " word loud enough fot the entire place to hear . How rude and unprofessional!! I was appalled, my wife had to pick her jaw up off the floor. I hope that waitress reads this and next time thinks before she speaks this was Saturday Dec 27th around 8AM. We have both spent time working in the restarunt business and are thinking of opening our own place in the future, and I can guaranty if I ever got a report like this about one of my people they would be looking for another job.
Needless to say we may not return anytime soonAdd CommentThe BEST Breakfast in Town (and that's not just a slogan)
Arthur's is without a doubt the best breakfast spot in the OC. I ordered sausage patties and eggs over medium, O'Brien potatoes, and biscuits with a small side of gravy (one of the earlybird specials) -- and a bottomless cup of coffee. In a word -- OUTSTANDING! I've also had their breakfast burrito, waffle sandwich, and other breakfasts, but I always come back to the basics, just like when I grew up. The servers, hosts, and expos all know me by name; and even when I'm feeling down, I'm feeling better by the time I leave. Q&A: How can you tell if a restaurant is a good place to eat? A full parking lot and lines waiting to get in -- that's ARTHUR'S!!! Signed, Wendell (see ya Sunday)

pint of gravy?
I love working at Arthur's! I may come into work tired but every single morning i get at least 25 cheerful hellos nicely decorated with a smile. I feel like the employees really care about me and what's going on in my life. We have the best times coming up with songs throughtout the day to keep us laughing.
Come one. Come all. Come HUNGRYCome and see for yourself!
I have been working at Arthur's for over 8 years and I eat there too! I feel the need to respond to the negative comment we received on aol city guide for several reasons. I personally served the family who has chosen to discredit the establishment and myself falsely. Anyone who knows me would agree that I do my best to provide excellent service. I'm not going to take the time to explain the "truth" of this particular incident, I simply want to say, "Come see for yourself." Come on the weekend and ask for the speediest, most attentive server. If you don't get my section, you will get one of the amazing people I work with, They will serve you a delicious meal. I recommend the eggs florentine or the pecan waffle. Come with a big appetite. You won't be dissapointed and if you are for any reason, let us know immediately and we will make it right. See you at Arthurs!
WOOHOOO!!!!!!!!!
Arthur's is like my second home. I enjoy eating there as much as i can, at least four times a week. No matter where you sit, there is going to be a waitress that will tend to your needs. Weather it be Shelley (my favorate), Lauren, Patti or Mary, they will make you feel at home. All of the people there are like a family. They are all extremely polite and very nice. And the food..AMAZING! I have yet to find another restaurant that can meet Arthur's standards. Arthur's has set the bar high for any family restaurant and all other restaurants have yet to surpas them. They rarey make mistakes, but if they do, they will do anything to rectify it. So if your looking for a relaxing home away from home, Arthur's is the place to be.
smalls
Arthur''s makes their food from scratch. They grate their cheese, boil their potatos, make the famous gravy in a arge cast iron skilet & crack their own eggs. The waitresses have been there for years and how refreshing it is to see a familiar face. It reminds me of "Cheers" because the waitresses address us by name and I hear them welcoming many guests by name. They work very hard and really carew about the guests and their jobs. They take pride in what they serve and go above and beyond what is expected of them. Great food, great service, we wil never stop coming. At Arthur's we feel like family. WE LOVE ARTHR'S!!!
WOW

Arthurs definitly lives up to its motto, "Best breakfast in town!" I was in shock after reading that disguisting review as I have NEVER in all my years of coming to Arthurs had that happened to me! The service is AMAZING! The food is WONDERFUL (I reccomend the breakfast burrito, mexican chicken sandwhich, or huevos rancheros!) and the people that work there treat me like family everytime I am there!! Arthurs is definitly the best choice! When I go, I like to sit with Patti and Elana every Sunday, they are always so funny, friendly, and helpful!
AMAZING!!! A MUST HAVE!!!

The food was amazing!!! All my country favorites and much more. The price is average, but the quality and quantity of the food was what made it a bargain! If you have a sweet tooth get the chocolate chip pancakes! If you have an empty stomach with a craving for Mexican food, definitely get the breakfast burrito. I can not finish the breakfast burrito because it is too big, and I am a big guy! I come here every weekend and week. If you like steak, chicken, pancakes, omelets, tacos, burritos, burgers, sandwiches, or fish than you need to try Arthur's Restaurant!!! When you go the service is great along with the delicious food. Make sure to ask for Lucas. We had him as a host when we went, and he always made sure our cups were filled and our experience perfect.
it may down home, but not very nice

I read all the wonderful review and was hoping for a great breakfast. What I go was something differnet.
I was seated quickly, but then waited for over thrity mins to order and then another fory five mins to end up with cold and wrong food. The whole hour I didn't see my server at all. I even order a soup, but that never came. It was on the bill, however.
I got to the point where I was looking for my server to leave then here comes our food my food was cold and my husband's plate was wrong and had to be sent back. The server didn't even come by to ask how the food was, but she must have knew the answer.
I never complain, but I had to this time. It was just awful. I expected something fair, but instead she chose to take off the food amounts by what was left on the plate. I didn't realize it was at a taco stand where there is no service??
I paid my bill and left, but I don't think I will make it there again because I don't have the time or the pacience to be ignored for the any meal at any price.
