One of the City of Los Angeless Recreation and Parks Department Aquatics Divisions 54 summer public pools, Lincoln Park Pool is open from the third Saturday in June through Labor Day, with morning and afternoon public swim sessions. Different water-exercise programs are offered: aquacise; flex-stretch; water-stepping; woggle work (a woggle is a buoyancy device); and zero- impact. Also offered are Junior Lifeguard Training for kids ages 10 - 17, and Lifeguard Training. Competitively, any girl or boy ages 7 - 17 who can swim the width of the pool and back in deep water may participate recreationally in the summer novice team programs and is encouraged to continue year-round; water instruction is provided, competition is against other citywide teams, and everyone receives a participation award. The novice teams compete in swimming, inner-tube polo, water polo, springboard diving and synchronized swimming. Call about daily hours of operation; however, the seasonal pools usually are open 10am to 6pm weekdays and 1pm to 6pm weekends. Adults 18 - 64 pay $1.25 for daily entrance. Group-participant lessons cost $15.00 for 10 lessons, and private lessons are $8.00 each.
