I go to Blu Jam at least twice a week. Everything on the menu is great. My favorites are the Powerhouse Breakfast, The Eggwich and the Salmon Platter. They have a great staff and owner and really treat you right. Also, right when you get there someone will bring you fresh bread and an olive tapenade dip. Blu Jam rocks.

Ive been going to blujam since I moved into the neighborhood last summer. My husband and I enjoy going to blujam about twice a week and feel so lucky that we moved into an area so close we can walk. Anytime I have a friend visiting from out of town I know just where to bring them and know somethings on the menu everyone can enjoy! They have a great handmade veggie burger, an amazing eggwich for breakfast and a friendly staff!

I go biking with a group on Sunday mornings and when its on our route, we stop at the Blu Jam Cafe afterwards for breakfast. Between us we have tried many of the menu offerings and there is a theme - everything is a several cuts above ordinary. The lattes are delicious, the bacon and ham exceptional, the vegetables fresh, and the combinations, original. The crabcakes are made with chunks of fresh crab. Now let us consider the eggwhich. First of all it is much too much food for one person, and even a 20 or 30 mile bike ride is no excuse. That said, it is a favorite. Ciabatta bread slathered in pesto with soft boiled eggs, avocados, real bacon, tomato, and our English companion couldn't stop raving about the lettuce - seriously. Fresh dark green lettuce. Go, you can even bring your dog and sit outside, but don't go early and take our seats.

Outside of the phenomenal food, Blujam has a welcome and comfortable atmosphere. The owner / head chef Kamil, makes strides to know everyone on a first name basis and accommodate them however he can. Like any restaurant at times it can get busy, but thats because of its popularity with the locals who live in the Melrose shopping district who go there daily to eat. This is not one of the staple get the customers in and out as quickly as possible restaurants - Kamil cares about those dining at his restaurant and is personally very picky about providing the highest quality food. The soups and crepes are fanstastic. Additionally, the restaurant serves as a gallery for budding photographers and artists to present their work.
