Birthday Breakfast July 5, 200

I chose to take friends to breakfast at DISH to celebrate the birthday of a lady who has never eaten there. My previous experiences foodwise were better than average and I hoped for the same or better this visit. I was satisfied on the food front, and very much enjoyed the Eggs Benedict which DISH makes with lovely thin slices of ham. It was very tasty and only suffered from not being piping hot.. The sevice was friendly and well intentioned but quite slow and somewhat inattentive. All things considered, this is a very good choice as a breakfast destination--it's the only meas I've had here but judging by my experience, lunch and dinner shoud be fine.

Dish is Great!

They have such neat and interesting specials. The staff is friendly. I've been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have always been pleased.

i've been writing on various food sites because i wanted to go to bat for this little restaurant that's trying to make a difference!

i, too, felt the same as so many people before me. there was a time when dish first opened that i LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!!!!! i used to come all the time, and bring different people to try it all the time. then something happened and the service just went south. it got so bad i stopped going there.

then a couple of weeks ago a friend wanted to go. i didnt want to, but thought one time wouldnt hurt. i was surprised to see dish STAFFED UP with more people, and everyone was so friendly and helpful! the food was great (as it always was, but the service had gotten BLAH) THE SERVICE WAS EXCELLENT!

at that point i thought it was a one hit wonder, and when i tried it again, i still had doubts. but they delivered again. i have gone back 3 more time since and all 5 trips have been fantastic. i love this place, and the food is great. and with their service problems, it seems like they've recovered and are back and doing great. i had a little time and wanted to spread the word. there's a lot of bad reviews for this place but i urge everyone to give dish another chance!

A French Fry in my soup

We went there for dinner and were the only table without a server for 10 minutes. Other tables sat after us had their drinks and no one had even said so much as "hello."
When someone finally showed up, we didn't receive even a small apology for waiting so long, he just asked in a very rude voice, "What can I get you to drink?"
We then placed our order and the server walked away before I could finish ordering.
We ordered a cup of butternut squash soup and got a surprise. A free french fry!
Somewhere in the middle of dinner, our server changed. As in the server didn't want to wait on us. He kept his other tables, so it was pretty clear he did not want to deal with us and our free french fry hating ways.
The new waiter was a dream! But our dinner was already ruined.
Anyway, I don't think I'm going back for a long time.
I didn't complain to anyone since I have worked in many restaurants and all they do is listen attentively to your complaints and MAYBE mention it later. Nothing would change. As noted by other reviewers who had similar experiences.

I have to say I love Dish, but for lunch or dinner. I made the mistake of taking my family here for Easter brunch based on the Best Breakfast rating and it was one of the worst restaurant breakfasts I have ever had... not one member of my family enjoyed their breakfast.

I love their salads and their beef brisket but the Best Breakfast rating to me is way off the mark.

There's rope in my food

We visited dish, bad idea. Someone in our group ordered shrimp with pasta and there was rope in it and four small shrimp. When the waiter finally showed up he didn't offer a new dish he argued with us.
We will never go back there and from what I hear many people in La Canada feel the say way.
