Simply the finest steak in Orange County!

  • Everything was great

It was my birthday and I took an expensive bottle of wine. 2 friends joined my wife as we ordered appetisers. They were very good with the wine service, even decanting and refridgerating while I waited for our table. The server's name was Nathan (I think). A blonde young guy who was a little theatrical ("for the lady..") but ended up doing a very fine job. I was told the corkage was $25 a bottle but he did not charge me. We ordered cocktails, appetisers, salads and then steaks. Everthing I had was about as good as it gets. I got a nice choclate cake thing for free too. My NY strip was perfect. You can tell the difference between a choice and a prime, when it comes to that cut. My wife was happy with everything as well, except the wait and the crowd, which goes with any good food joint on a saturday night. The bill was $240 with a $55 tip for excellent service.
I will go back again on the next special occasion. Bungalow is also almost as good. No one else in OC can do the whole meal right.

  • best service & best food

This restaurant serves food hot and all their food is the best of the best. Tender steaks, most fish and very flavorful as well as a wonderful caesar salad. If you are looking for great food and great service at a classy restaurant w/o the stuck up service where they treat you like you are important, this is definitely the Steak House for you!!!

  • The BEST ever!

    Review rating : 5out of 5   galleybabe - 03/22/2006

The steak was the best I have ever had. Try the BBQ shrimp and the sweet potato side dish. Karen E. is the best server we ever have had. Funny...personable.Really takes care of you (and you can ask for her to wait on you when you make a reservation).
She knows wine and has been with Ruths for a very long time.
Get the creme burlee or the chocolate explosion. My friend had the halibut and said it was the best she ever had.
    Hats off to you all!!!!

Food was great.... Service was great...the only complaint I have is that even with reservations, you'll still have to wait

  • Best ever

This is the best Steakhouse that I have ever been to. All the others pale in comparison to Ruth's Chris. The worst part is just trying to get your reservation but I can live with that.

  • Another Steak House

    Review rating : 2out of 5   drtw58 - 08/18/2005

Everything is a la carte. For what is charged for a steak you'd think they could at least toss on a garnish. It is noisy and service is a bit cold. I have business meetings there from time to time, not by choice! It realy seems to be a place to go strictly for convenience more than enjoyment. A typical over rated, over priced, place to eat.

  • great place

Have eaten at many RC locations and am very pleased. The portions are good and the variety acceptable. Staff was very acommodating.

  • BAD service and food

    Review rating : 0out of 5   bythecsd1 - 01/23/2005

None of the servers smiled, they all looked like they hated to be there and when my cold food came to the table after an hour wait for it, even with reservations; because they had problems with not enough help, I understood why they didn't want to be there...the food was horrible. There was way too much fat on the piece of steak I ordered and the veggies were burnt and dried out. I was so embarrassed to have taken my date there. Don't be embarrassed, Find Another Place To Eat! The restrooms were not clean to top off the dinner, my date complained also.

this has to be the bottom of the list of places to eat.they don't know how to cook a stake at all.I had to send it back 3 times and it was still burned outside like a lava rock and it was black.they said that was medium.then they wanted me to pay $80 bucks for each meal.I will never go back there and I make sure everyone I can tell don't go.
