With lines that consistently trickle down Main Street, the Huntington Beach Beer Co. has been a downtown favorite with Surf City locals since 1992. During the day, the Beer Co. is your typical brewery-cum-restaurant with exposed red brick covering the walls, sacks of hops and barley are stacked carelessly wherever and enormous vats of fermenting beer visible from the main dining area. At night, the balcony heaters are turned on, the music gets cranked up and the volume of conversation gets increasingly louder. Unfortunately, the H.B. Beer Co. lacks the standard pub extras such as pool tables and dart boards, but a fully-stocked bar makes up for the lack of extracurricular activities. As you might expect from a bar located a block away from the beach, the flimsy dress code might best be described as beach casual: bikinis, board shorts, and sandals are extremely common. Especially on Tuesday nights, when martinis are guzzled for a mere four bones each. -- Michael Alarcon

This place sucks. The Bacon Burger use to be good until the Canaidian owner changed the bacon to Canaidian Bacon (RETARD). Beer really sucks too!Back in the day everything was good, thanks to the Owner he ruined a great local spot.

This place is terrible. Having to wait 10 minutes before being approached by anyone is inexcusable. The appetizers are a disgrace. We ordered calamari and hot wings at $10.00 and $9.00 respectively. The miniscule portion of calamari was overcooked and rubbery. The wings were tiny and they didn't even bring any ranch dressing. The taco salad is not much more than lettuce, the cheeseburger was decent, but way overpriced. It was almost an hour after we arrived by the time our food was served. We then had to wait almost 15 minutes until I could get the waiters attention to get the check. Over $40.00 for a burger, taco salad, calamari, wings and 2 sodas. What a disappointing experience. Obviously a tourist trap that I will avoid at all costs in the future.

The only thing good about this joint is the ocean view. The service is so slow; there were only a few guests when I was there. The food is uninteresting. And the beer is ordinary. Though the happy hour deals are very cheap, I would not return.

Decent menu and food. Service is just okay. Beer and location are good. Sit out on the patio and enjoy the view.
