From the outside, this downtown institution doesn't look like it was ever the local produce market or owned by a once-famous Hollywood choreographer, but the restaurant's dramatic past is made clear in its wood beams, huge ceiling and fanciful decorations. Former tinsel town guy Steven Peck serves Sicilian favorites in what looks like a never-ending Italian village festival gone bad (it actually depicts Sicily's St. Ciro's Day). After straining your neck to take in the sights, feast your eyes on the menu. Everything, from the bread to the cannelloni is made fresh with strong flavors. For some regulars, this is their local pizza place because the thick and chewy pies are better than the entrees. Suburban families, groups and couples out on a romantic (yet humorous) date dress casually here and revel in the eccentric party atmosphere. Hint: A visit to the subterranean toilette is a must.

When your hungry and need a smile where do you go?? It is always A and V's!!! Perfect food and amazing staff with very affordable family prices. Have been a customer for 20 years!! It only gets better everytime. Had my wedding there as well and never have I seen things so perfectly handled, organized and beautiful and I work in the industry!! THank you Angelos and Vincis, you made it a perfect day!!!!!!!!!!!!

CSPHW - 05/16/2008I don't care where you're from, New York, Chicago or Rome, Angelo's & Vinci's has the best pizza, PERIOD. First, the crust is simply unparalleled, thick, chewy and tasty, NOT like so many other joints where the dough is like a grease soaked spongey mess or a tasteless, cardboard disc. It all starts with the dough.
And then A & V's uses great ingredients, cheese, portobello mushrooms, sausage, all sorts of combinations, (the masterpiece is the house specialty for a reason.) That's only the pizza, which is so good that would really be all you would need. You could open up a roadside stand and sell this pizza out from under an umbrella and it would be fine. But then they have so many other really great things like the hand stuffed pastas and chicken dishes and the lasagna is killer. Plus the decor is out of control. It's the grandest Italian joint you've ever been too. Huge ceiling, decoration EVERYWHERE! Yeah, it's like an Italian acid trip.
I've been going there all my life and my family has always loved it. I have so many great memories there I just can't plug it enough. Freaking go already.It Was Like I Was Back in the Old Neighborhood
