This casual Costa Mesa pub mixes a young singles crowd with cheap booze and dance hits.
Pierce Street Annex, established more than 30 years ago, was voted Best of Citysearch Singles Scene 2007. As your neighborhood bar by day and club by night, this Orange County spot offers great food, music and dancing. On Sundays there's an outdoor barbeque and live music, 4-8pm, with no cover. Enjoy coed pool leagues on Monday and tacos and trivia on Tuesday, 5:30-9pm. Get 3 drinks for $10 on Wednesday and 3 drinks for $11 on Thursday. Thursday Lucky Bucks drawing is at 12am. On Friday and Saturday, dance to live music and a DJ. While this is not a restaurant, there's great food available for customers to cook on the outdoor barbecue. Half pound hamburgers, bratwurst, spicy sausage and more are provided. Mention that you saw Pierce Street Annex on Citysearch, & receive a special gift!

In Short
"Casual" and "cheap" sum up this Costa Mesa singles party destination. It's one of the area's top pickup spots, with beachy, attractive 20-somethings filling the majority of the bill. Drink specials keep the small dance floor fueled, as singles smash together to hip-hop and rock hits. A large patio area allows for conversation if the inside frenzy gets overwhelming.

eh
this place is pretty much dead before 11. there were barely any people on the dance floor until really late. the crowd is a little older and not the best looking....it wasn't terrible but i'll never go back. once is enough.

This is an excellent place to get your groove on without going broke. The crowd is friendly and its a nice mix, The drinks are amazing. I love the bartenders! Jason is my fav. How many places can you go to and there is no cover and the drink prices are still resonable. It is th ultimate pick up spot if that is what you're looking for. It's also a great place to just hang out with friends in the OC.
cover charge!!
This is a great place, but it gets 3 now because w/ a cover charge, it's only mediocre!... You need to change your review. They CHARGE $10 after 9pm Fri and Sat. This makes it just like a million other places, so please change the part on your page that says "They never charge cover". Cuz I went there and had to pay. thanks -Heather
Please, NO cover Charge!
You guys have done a good job in maintaining business just the way you have it now. The rumor of a $10 cover charge on weekends will assure your going back to the Mid-ninties where you could here and Ant fart in their. Do not ruin a good thing, no one will pay it. Keep it the way it is, it ain't broke!! NO COVER !!!
cool place
Pierce street is a cool place if you just feel like having a drink and relaxing at the end of the week. But be smart ladies and watch out for the "italians" they're there every thursday and friday. The bartenders are great with really nice attitudes and they make some of the best long islands!
incredible dancer

Saturday nite's DJ was awesome, and i danced all night with an incredible guy....
will have to go again! Are you kidding me?

Yes, it's packed. Way too many people. While it's NOT the pretentious crowd, it's also not the "beautiful" crowd. You won't find a lot of hotties there. You'll find mostly an early-20's age group (think college). That's fine for me. However, the DJ sucks. He plays the full length version of whatever he puts on. This gets boring. Get to work, mix a little, and change your play list. He re-plays the same tired "classics" weekend after weekend. When he plays his mandatory "techno" set, he plays the EXACT SAME songs too. Take a hint, Johnny, play 3 minutes of a song (at most), and seamlessly mix into the next song. Also, management: recapture some of your table area in the back of the bar, and make it part of the dance floor. Your floor is SO small that everyone pogo's (or the drunk people simply slam into you while they "bend over and touch their toes"). Yes, there's a lot of fat people out there, and they want to prove they can freak with the best of them. Please, get your freak on IN PRIVATE! Also, it's true that the line is notoriously long, and many fake ID holders are rejected. I just pay the $20 "tip?" to the bouncer, and I'm in. Of course, it's been 6 months, due to my inability to hear the old-fart geezer spinning the TIRED songs repeatedly...
My Birthday... again
When I suggested the Old Favorite of Pierce Street (where I hadnt been in FOREVER) to my friends for my birthday last weekend, EVERYONE was stoked! I had SUCH a great time, as always. Thanks for makin my birthday one to have fuzzy memories of!
Chill place/chill people
Pierce Street is honestly an awesome place to hang out, if you are up to dancing and mingling. Sure the crowd ranges in style and age but you'll be sure to find people you fit in with. Johnny B spins totally fun music you can dance too. Its important to get there earlier so you don't wait in line forever, but if you have money just beat the line fpr 20 bucks, and make sure you get on the dance floor and get your money well spent. Its a fun place, some might think of it as a meat market, but I usually just ignore that aspect of it and take it as a compliment. Thursdays is always the best, only cause its college night, and there are much younger people there, btu fri and sat are fun too, Wednesday is fun and 80s music rocks!
used to be good
i was a long time weekend customer of the annex, but you couldn't pay me to go there now. well maybe during the week it's still ok but friday saturday and sunday its not a place anyone would want to be.
